Yep, this is what the science says. Give kids experiences that make them stronger. Challenge them. Cold-call them. Make them do things hard enough they can't succeed without real effort. Being anxious about student anxiety only makes it worse.

I also still "cold call" on students to answer questions. The best way to learn to handle anxiety is exposure and practice.
