no that's the "average price"
1. most those houses are absolute shit boxes that are 50 years old that cost $25k when they were first built
2. that "average" accounts for all the dead end midwest and southern states that are literally impoverished in most areas
if you want to live in a state that actually has jobs, industry, etc even an average house is gonna cost you near a mil and a decent one that's not old as fuck and that's in a good neighborhood with a yard in the back will run you 2 to 3 mil easily and that same house you could have bought for 350k 20 years ago
