On a cold night in January 2022, New Hampshire State Police received a call about a dog running loose on Interstate 89 near the Vermont border.
Trooper Tom Sandberg and officers from Lebanon police found the dog on the highway.
She was a one-year-old Shiloh Shepherd named Tinsley. When they tried to approach her, she kept moving north, then paused and looked back at them.
The officers followed. She led them across the state line into Vermont, then stopped at the top of an embankment beside a damaged guardrail and stared down into the darkness.
Below them lay an overturned pickup truck. Two men had been thrown from the vehicle. Both were badly injured and suffering from hypothermia.
One of them was Tinsley’s owner, Cam Laundry. Both men were taken to the hospital. Officers later said they likely would not have survived the night in that cold.
While rescuers worked, Tinsley sat calmly beside her owner. He later called her his guardian angel. She had no special training. She simply refused to leave him. 🌹🐾

They are located at the Very Deadly , Apple Valley Animal Shelter, in Apple Valley, CA .
The shelter says they are both playful and nice . They both have a skin condition called Demodex. They may need further vet care for it . A lot of times it goes away on its own if not serious.. It’s not contagious .
Please go and adopt these puppies or offer to foster them so a rescue can pull them. Fostering is free through a rescue if you live in Southern California.
Please consider out-of-state adoption🇺🇸 it’s possible through a rescue. Adopter pays for Transport.
Please don’t think that this shelter isn’t capable of 💉 puppies. They have many times before., and will if homes aren’t found for them soon.
Please share these precious, sweethearts. This shelter gets very little foot traffic. The dogs there depend on us on social media to get their faces out there.

Keeping #Snuggles confined to a shelter for an entire YEAR is heartbreaking enough. But denying him visitors, allowing him to lie in his own waste, keeping him drugged, and refusing him the opportunity for sanctuary is absolutely BARBARIC!
Even criminals on death row are afforded greater dignity and compassion than this innocent animal!
This is not rescue. This is not humane treatment. This is cruelty, plain and simple!
At this point, it is difficult to believe this isn’t personal, and I imagine we have a good reason why! 🇺🇸 One has to wonder WHY those responsible would rather see Snuggles continue to suffer than allow him a chance at a peaceful, loving life.

A Travis County court ordered Major euthanized. On October 26, a federal court in Austin stopped it for good.
Under the ADA, the Court granted a permanent injunction, finding Shane Lilly is a qualified individual with a disability and losing Major would be irreparable harm.
The City of Austin is now permanently barred from euthanizing him.
Within 30 days he goes to a licensed rescue outside Austin and Travis County, then at least 30 days of decompression with veterinary behaviorist Dr. Kenneth Martin to rehabilitate and retrain him.
Strict conditions: secure enclosure, muzzle and leash, $100,000 liability coverage, court reports every 30 days for a year.
