Lula victory speech:
"We had to overcome foreign interference through digital platforms, which we will have to regulate.
We cannot have monstrously huge corporations earning millions & billions, paying no taxes to this country & trying to steer this country's election results."

The fact that Brazilian markets panicked and crashed the three times Lula was previously elected (and are doing so a fourth time now), only to boom during his terms in office, poses a real challenge to the efficient market hypothesis.

Perhaps the most important story from the Anthropic S-1 is the company's concession that it isn't really independent, but is basically a joint venture of Google, Microsoft, and Amazon.
Laurel retweeted
Half of Anthropic's sales are coming through hyperscalers. And that's increasing over time.
"During the years ended December 31, 2023, 2024, and 2025 and the six months ended June 30, 2026, revenue generated from sales to customers through CSP marketplaces represented approximately 11%, 32%, 47%, and 48%, respectively, of total revenue."

The most important risk factor for Anthropic is the rule of law actually being applied.
"Any determination that we are liable under such theories, or any judicial or regulatory expansion of tort, product liability, or consumer protection law, or criminal liability, as applied to AI models, could result in significant liability and require us to change how we design and offer our models, platform, and applications."

all you need to know: Anthropic ducked Q3 in its S-1.
that omission tells you all you need. demand has drop, economics haven’t gotten worse. and a company that is allegedly built around trust is trying to skirt the truth.

Can't emphasize enough that this project relies on your feedback to fix bugs.
After almost 10 years of work corporateownershipdata.com now makes available all publicly available ownership records of 7,156 publicly traded firms, not just the S&P 500, including dual-class shares.

Important piece by @noamscheiber on lawyer Beth Wilkinson and her career defending corporate interests and monopolies — from Paramount to Nexstar, and more.
While Democrats might be inclined to defend Wilkinson for her defense of ABC, as @nhegde says, that doesn’t wash away a career spent helping monopolists consolidate markets. If Democrats are serious about being a party for working people, they have to take seriously what lawyers like her facilitate.

Everyone needs to know what actually happened in Serbia.
Instead of students just protest against their government, the students organized themselves into a student list and ran in elections against their government—and they have just won.
Dear Serbia, congratulations on your victory; you have just opened a new door in protesting. This is history

Celebrations have erupted in the streets of Serbia's capital Belgrade, after long-standing leader Aleksandar Vučić admitted defeat to a student-led protest movement in snap parliamentary elections. Read more: bbc.in/4BwV5ga

We gave the Times the chance to do the right thing yesterday.
Instead, they’re going with an argument that basically boils down to:
*We randomly produced our first ever plume model about the exact same incident that Hunterbrook exposed with a plume model
*We randomly took a lead photo of the exact same home on the exact same street
*We randomly interviewed the same expert
Etc.
They wrote a great story. Obviously, we care about the subject deeply. It’s just a huge bummer for our team and the reporters who worked relentlessly on these stories.
Breaking: Several sections of @NYTimes front page story today mirror two earlier Hunterbrook investigations — without attribution.
