Siri: An NFT stands for Non-fungible token.
Non-fungible token - as in one can't exchange one NFT for another?
Balloon bypasses the issue by allowing fellow borrowers to return any NFT within the collection of the NFT that was borrowed.
Say you need to own an NFT to able to attend an exclusive event to holders but didn't want to buy one outright
Instead, you can borrow this NFT from Balloon and return it once the event is over saving yourself from a price risk on that NFT collection 😉

On Thursday the original “Balloons” test NFT collection will be available to borrow and lend 🎈
This will be a simple sample collection for users to try out the platform. Note that the project is currently live on testnet, and costs zero real ETH to use!
An FAQ section has been added to our website balloonprotocol.com in which commonly asked questions will be answered. If you have a question you think others would also have, send a message in the #faq channel of our Discord and we may add it to the site!
With Balloon, you are able to refinance your NFT loans as well.
Consider you borrowed an NFT at a high interest rate, but later another lender offers an NFT from the same collection with a lower interest rate.
You can borrow from them to reimburse your high interest rate loan.
Balloon is awaiting verification from Gitcoin regarding a grant which will go live very soon. Stay tuned as we'll be tweeting updates!
Balloon is in active development. While the project is live in Rinkeby, there are often updates pushed out that use a new contract address. Please note this while testing the protocol, as you may lose access to your loans at any time.
