Balstrode in #PeterGrimes by #BenjaminBritten is a fair-minded, if imperfect person.
I like to hope that's me too.
If you haven't seen the opera, please do.
Grimes is an ambitious fisherman driven to madness and suicide by a baying mob who are incited by malicious gossip.

Heartbreaking. Heartbreaking. Heartbreaking.
Eight-year-old Fatima Hisham al-Bayook has succumbed to her injuries after being struck by an Israeli bullet a few days ago east of Deir al-Balah, Gaza.
There had been desperate pleas for her urgent medical evacuation in the hope of saving her life.
After contacting her family, I can also confirm that Fatima’s mother and two younger siblings were killed in an Israeli strike on December 13, 2023.
Her siblings were Leen, a baby less than a year old, and Asaad, just three years old.
Israel’s terror and the systematic destruction of Palestinian families continue to unfold before the eyes of the world.
Remember their names.
So, two @IDF soldiers get killed and it's headline news.
#Palestinians of all ages being killed daily, often by random automatic gunfire or massive bombs, and it doesn't get covered @BBCNews

Frankly I don't think #pokemon is appropriate for young children. It's based on violenceㅤㅤ

Within the next 48 hours, if flour is not allowed into Gaza, all bakeries in the city will stop producing bread.
We are facing an enormous catastrophe. Famine is knocking on our doors once again, and this time, it could be worse than anything we have experienced before.
Please, do not remain silent! Talk about Gaza, make our voices heard around the world, and do everything you can before thousands of people lose access to something as basic as a loaf of bread.

Zionists are evil land grabbing thieves. Those trucks should be sent in with military escort amd anybody standing in the way gets a friendly nudge to clear a way for human necessities and nourishment. This is not negotiable israel. The world is watching your wretched Zionist souls torment, collectively punish and starve the Palestinians, and we're sick of it. Free Palestine from the genocidal maniacs, aka israeli IDF, illegally patrolling and occupying Gaza. 🤬✊️🍉🇵🇸♥️🇭🇲

“It was like this biblical battle where the Palestinian men … went in front of me to protect … me and my rescuers from being attacked again,” Washington Post photojournalist Heidi Levine told Jake Tapper.
Levine was kicked, beaten with clubs and robbed by Israeli settlers while covering Friday’s olive harvest in the occupied West Bank, leaving her with multiple broken bones. Speaking after leaving the hospital, she said Israeli soldiers charged Palestinian farmers as settlers advanced alongside them. She said that unlike her, Palestinian victims endure these attacks daily, with absolutely nowhere safe to go.
“Let me die,” American photojournalist Heidi Levine repeats to journalists Jasper Nathaniel as they try to outrun masked Israeli settlers who attacked her on Friday while she covered the olive harvest in the West Bank village of Abu Falah, near Ramallah.
Around 80 settlers attacked Palestinian olive harvesters in the village, AP reported. The Palestinian Red Crescent said it treated six people injured in two attacks in Abu Falah.
Levine, a freelancer for the Washington Post, told the Committee to Protect Journalists that the settlers knocked her down and kicked her for at least 10 minutes, even after she identified herself as an American journalist. They stole her camera, phone and bag. She was eventually taken to a hospital in Ramallah.
"The IDF provided cover, with tear gas and machine guns, while the settlers beat" Levine "nearly to death," Nathaniel wrote, adding that soldiers then shot a Palestinian bystander and aimed their guns at and shoved paramedics trying to treat him. AP photos and circulating videos show Israeli soldiers standing over a wounded Palestinian man after they shot him.
Andrey X, an activist also at the scene, said a Palestinian man "saved our lives from the settler-terrorists who attacked the olive harvesters and journalists” armed only with a slingshot.
And so should the #UK

She was only four when Trump said he would end the war in 24 hours. Just turned six when Musk decided to join Trump on Putin’s side and help the Kremlin killers murder her
Typical of #Netanyahu
The comments are brilliant. Talk about shooting yourself in the foot. #Ukraine
This is obscene @manairport, pure profiteering.
I forgot to pay by midnight so will get a £60 fine for less than a 2 minute pick-up.
It's theft. You're not providing a service.
Anyway, how do you guarantee timing flight arrivals when there's nowhere nearby to wait?
