I've gotten some nice testimonials over the years, but this one is especially nice. Beth has such a sharp legal mind; it was interesting to work with her.
I get where these AirBnb owners are coming from, not because their gripes are reasonable, but because they’ve grown used to being spoiled in a sense. There are burdens to running this business, monetary and otherwise, that, till now, they’ve been able to avoid. And now they’re forced to confront them.
It’s often more difficult to have something taken away than it is to have never had it.
Biggest issue as I see it with investing in Anthropic (though this issue won’t prevent me from doing that) is that there’s a material difference between investing in Anthropic in 2026 vs investing in Apple in 1984, or in Amazon in the early 2000s, or etc.
For those latter companies you had to have a vision that others did not have. That’s how people get very rich in the stock market. Seeing what others don’t see.
Here, there’s no vision required: it’s beginning at a valuation that you’d normally make a ton of money foreseeing in the future.
All that said, it’s probably true that it’ll climb a small hill. People will likely double, triple their investment in the first couple years if investing in November.
But Apple is up about 300,000% (let that sink in) since the mid 1980s. This can’t be that when starting at a 1.5-2 trillion valuation.
Less obvious successes will come along. Though of course those fish aren’t as easy to catch. 🐠
Here I am taking the bait even though just yesterday I called these posts rage baiting.
Anyway, transactions come with both benefits and burdens. Hosts should expect that when they collect a nightly fee (a benefit), it might come with the burden of finding some dishes in the sink. More to the point, hiring someone to clean up might be a cost of doing business. Businesses have expenses, not just revenue.
Can’t have your cake and eat it, too. The guests might have eaten the cake and chosen to put the dishes in the sink.
its just bonkers the new policy @airbnb is trying to put in place. Putting the dishes in the dishwasher, taking out the trash, pulling the sheets off the bed....they are just standard things any normal person would do when staying at a house. Why wouldn't a host be allowed to say that?
The final two seasons of the show "TRUMP" are looking like they are going to be interesting. Been a long run: not too many series last 6 seasons even though it was taken off the air for four years before returning for a second run. And it's been picked up for 2 more.

Enjoy it now (well, yesterday), since the next one won’t be till March 4, 2105.
I will say, though, that theorem was perhaps the most tested concept when I was heavy into teaching math on the SAT and ACT. As important as knowing words like pusillanimous, obsequious, truculent, etc., for the verbal section.
#twittersupperclub, chili. Nothing fancy here; though I'm all for creativity in cooking. But sometimes just want the kind of chili you'd get at a good roadside diner.
Client was a cop for decades before now taking the bar exam. There's theoretical Crim Pro as he now needs to know it for the MBE, and there's practical Crim Pro as he knows it from his career. They don't always match up. 🚔
Been getting asked some whether New Jersey will finally release its bar exam results this week after requiring candidates to suffer through 3 months of waiting (which, although we've come to accept as a profession is, as they say, bonkers!).
Maybe it won't want to be the last state standing (which will be true after this Friday when California releases results.) Or maybe it just doesn't care about that.
So, if predicting, I'd say yes, this week. November seems late to me. But I can't state that with any real confidence.

This person seems like some kind of rage bait expert. 😭😂
Recently I’ve seen a lot of people complaining about being asked to clean an Airbnb when they’ve already paid a cleaning fee
As a host, I find this attitude quite worrying
My wife and I rent out the apartment in Germany. We charge a €145 cleaning fee, and we still expect guests to:
1. Strip the beds and start a wash, separating whites from colours
2. Wash, dry and put away all dishes
3. Sweep and mop the floors
4. Take out all rubbish, separating paper, cardboard, clear glass, coloured glass, plastics, metal, organic waste and residual waste
5. Take bottles with a deposit to the supermarket return machine.
6. Send photos showing the apartment is ready before the 8:30am checkout
These tasks must be completed before departure. If you have an early flight, allow time the evening before
The cleaning fee pays for professional cleaning. It does not pay for someone to pick up after you
Here in Europe, we teach children to leave a place as they found it
I don’t think it’s unreasonable to expect the same from adults on holiday
