Democrats Think You’re “Rich”—Now Fork It Over by Allysia Finley If you earn more than $184,500, you are rich. Congratulations. Progressives don’t merely want to redistribute wealth. They want to raise taxes to aggrandize their own power and level opponents. Then they can decide what’s fair and who has enough. wsj.com/opinion/democrats-th… via @WSJopinion

Barack Obama: "They are running scary ads to make you think Democrats are radicals, communists, jihadists, or the woke police. What is radical about wanting everybody to have healthcare? How is that radical?"

American Exceptionalism Is No Myth The U.K. is poorer than every American state. Think about that. It’s extraordinary. The U.K. presents as a sophisticated, globally competitive country. The world speaks English, after all. The sun never sets on the supply of exquisitely talented British actors, writers and musicians. But as the Journal reports, the U.K. is suffocating under the weight of its bloated welfare state. A hardly believable 10% of the British population claims to be sick or disabled. The Brits themselves don’t seem to see it. When asked to imagine how they’d fit into the 50-state U.S. economic hierarchy, they rank themselves in the top 10. That is so far off the mark as to qualify as delusional. The U.S. contains within itself more than four dozen economic statelets that are more productive per-capita than the place that once produced Rolls-Royce, the Beatles, Harry Potter, etc. wsj.com/opinion/free-express…

Activist Psychiatrists Are Afraid of Evidence Who’s afraid of evidence-based medicine? The answer, regrettably, is the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, or Aacap. The organization—which strongly influences parents, policymakers and medical practice—has rebuffed our separate attempts to hold discussions on childhood gender transition at its annual meeting, which begins in Atlanta on Oct. 26. As psychiatrists ourselves, it pains us to say that Americans should ignore one of the most prestigious medical associations in our field for the sake of protecting children from lifelong harm. wsj.com/opinion/free-express… via @WSJFreeEx

🎯 ‘Digger’ Defenders Are Missing the Point The legendary Hollywood producer Samuel Goldwyn deserves credit for, alongside the masterpieces he shepherded to the silver screen, supposedly coining an enduring phrase. “If you want to send a message,” Goldwyn purportedly once said, “call Western Union.” wsj.com/opinion/free-express… via @WSJFreeEx

Doing Capitalism the Chick-fil-A Way The outrage mob’s Chick-fil-A standard would make much of modern production impossible. As Leonard Reed explained in “I, Pencil,” even the production of something as simple as a No. 2 pencil involves everyone from cedar loggers in the Pacific Northwest to graphite miners in Sri Lanka. Do they all agree on gay rights—or anything else? Free-market cooperation and coordination promote social harmony. When people who would otherwise silo themselves off end up working together or trading, they see that everybody’s money is green. They also learn we’re often not as different as it seems. Yet the market’s push toward social harmony only works if we let it. If we start demanding to do business only with people who share our religious, social and political views, it all falls apart. And that would be nobody’s pleasure. wsj.com/opinion/free-express… via @WSJFreeEx

Ummm, no actually. This is what it looks like when you shoplift with your kid in the car and then your friend attempts to murder police officers with her car by ramming them to death. Hope this helps clarify things for you.

🚨 INSANE: A 70-year-old Florida attorney walked into a Mississippi gun store and said she needed a gun to KlLL ICE agents. Lisa White asked if the bullets would go through their body armor. When they said no, she allegedly said she'd just shoot them in the head. The store reported her. HSI arrested her. She's sitting in jail WITHOUT BOND on federal threat charges. This is what the left's "resistance" looks like now. Threatening to murder federal agents is not protest. It's a crime. Lock her up and throw away the key.
