Lovely tribute to Dad in the latest issue of Haunted Magazine. Thank you, Paul.

Haunted Magazine Issue 50, Part One, officially crawls out of the crypt on June 1st, then shuffles into UK shops from June 2nd, while stocks last, obviously.
Order your copy now at hauntedmag.com and make sure you don’t miss it, regret it, or have to explain to your future self why you let a perfectly good paranormal milestone float past like a Victorian lady and you did nothing.
Please repost, retweet, share, comment, shout it from the attic, whisper it into a Ouija board, tell your nan, tell your postman, tell that sceptical mate who still thinks every ghost is “probably the pipes”.
Spread the paranormal word: Haunted Magazine Issue 50, Part One, is HERE. You can order at hauntedmag.com
#teamHaunted encompasses everyone who makes this strange little beast possible: readers, writers, advertisers, stockists, distributors, paranormal lovers, believers, sceptics, and those glorious inbetweeners currently standing in the hallway saying, “I’m not saying it was a ghost, but…”
AND YES, WE SAID “PART ONE”.
All will be revealed…
Eventually.
Probably.
Maybe bring snacks while you wait.
Lovely tribute to Dad. Thank you so much to John Freeman. downthetubes.net/in-memoriam…
We are considering organising a celebration of his life in the near future and would be grateful if you could let us know if you would like to attend. The plan at the moment is for it to be in St. Albans where he was born and lived much of his life. Many thanks.
Hi everyone, this is Jen, Barrie’s daughter. I’m very sorry to share the news that Barrie passed away yesterday. He loved interacting on X with you all and making the contacts that he has. He thought of many of you as friends. He asked me to let you know.
It will soon be the cricket season! Here’s a Billy’s Boots cover to get you in the mood. John Gillatt’s art, Fred Baker’s script.
Archie has started eating again! Just a few dandelions. This photo was taken a while ago. She has a blanket in her hutch and if it is a bit chilly, she takes the blanket out with her into the garden. She can often be seen walking around with the blankets still attached.
It’s the IPC comics cricket team! A few names I can identify: Back row left to right: David Gregory, me (WK) Then 2 ?, Bob Paynter, Paul Gettens, Tom Tully, 2 ? front row: David Jones(?),Tony Power, Gil Page, David Hunt.
Sandy James artwork on this 1982 Tiger cover. Not only was there Big Daddy and Johnny Cougar, there was a chance to meet Ian Botham. And I edited two Big Daddy annuals!
Viktor was complaining he hadn’t been featured for a while so here’s a happy moment which he’s sharing with Johnny Dexter…
For tortoise enthusiasts, my son tells me that Archie woke up from hibernation for a day, had a few tickles and a chat, then went back to sleep again.
69 years ago, I bought this beautiful Adox Golf camera in Germany, while doing my national service. It’s still in lovely condition and a treasured keepsake.
The Billy’s Boots story was always popular and is a story that is so well remembered. Here’s Billy scoring a great goal and readers had a chance to win programmable computer robots! Script by Fred Baker and art by John Gillatt. Classic!
Just found my original Eagle Club Membership Certificate, dated 1951. I was about 13 when I received this. It was signed by the editor! I was a regular reader of Eagle. It was an honour to relaunch it in 1982.
I met lots of famous people during my work on the comics. This is the very first, the great David Coleman, in the Grandstand studio. I look, and was, very nervous! It was for a Tiger Annual feature.
I’m looking forward to this! Let BFC know if you are interested.
