OBAMA: He made a bunch of promises to get costs under control. I think we should examine how did these promises work out? Well, first of all, if you thought everything cost too much before… everything is more expensive now.
I want to be fair. As a former president, I can tell you sometimes factors beyond the president's control end up foiling the best laid plans.
That is not the case here.
This administration's actions are directly responsible for rising costs. The current president chose to make a series of bad decisions. Most importantly, he decided to start an unnecessary war that nobody asked for and nobody voted for

Elon Musk
Just what an incredible fall from grace…
From innovative, eco-conscious, cool nerd…
To depraved, entitled, evil, war-mongering, self-radicalised fuckwit.

According to The Economist:
"It appears to have come from a small circle around the president, Mr Musk and Steve Witkoff, the special envoy to Russia. Reports suggest Mr Musk wanted to punish Ukraine for striking Russian refineries. One official says he contacted the White House only after imposing the restrictions."
If true, this suggests Elon Musk imposed the terminal-speed restrictions unilaterally, before notifying the White House.
Congress must urgently investigate whether Musk acted without government authorization. It is unacceptable for a private citizen to exercise unilateral control over a vital military capability. Starshield is a defense system, and decisions to restrict its operational capabilities should rest with the appropriate government authorities, not the CEO of a private contractor.
This should alarm everyone.

Weird, you don’t mention Putin at all. What on earth could his incentives be?

You can smell the fear with every dollar he spends.
For years, Musk has acted like the rule of law doesn't apply to him.
He bought political influence at the cost of what little was left of US democracy. It kept him from repercussions, but it also sealed his fate. Now he has to spend nonstop to keep the people he buys elected.
Elon's biggest fear is that honest people, such as James Talarico, get elected. Elon needs people he can buy, and he needs a culture where that's OK.
Musk midterm spending tops $442M

I am a lifelong independent thinking, never Trump Republican.
Our country works best when there are checks and balances between branches.
To fix things, we must vote straight DemocratIc this election.
The country will be a better place if we Republicans bury this crass, cruel and coarse playbook.politico.com/news/magazine/2…
I’m not sure who Elon Musk is, but he sounds like a Russian asset and it seems like it would be foolish to buy any of his products, especially the ones that he can turn on and off.
He talks about a democracy in the Ukraine like it’s worse than Putin and the oligarchy in Russia.
It’s becoming less and less likely that this lifelong independent thinking never Trump Republican will ever vote for a Republican again.
But I know for sure I won’t be voting for one this election.
This administration and my state’s administration need checks and balances.

The shifting explanations from Musk and the administration sound like Abbott and Costello’s “Who’s on First?” Except the consequences for Ukrainian civilians are deadly.
Musk says he didn’t do it. The administration says it didn’t either. Yet someone in the administration reportedly told Musk to undo it, and Ukraine reports only partial restoration.
Are we supposed to believe Hegseth and the Pentagon don’t know the status of a capability critical to U.S., Ukrainian and allied security?
Whoever is handing Putin the gift of a more vulnerable Ukraine should at least have the guts to put their name on it. Hiding behind denials while innocent people pay the price is cowardice.
Meanwhile, Putin keeps murdering civilians and trying to starve and freeze Ukraine into submission. Americans deserve answers. Ukrainians deserve the means to defend themselves.
Nothing but corruption from this administration.
