In a major breakthrough, Amritsar Commissionerate Police busts two illegal arms supply networks, apprehends 4 accused, including two juveniles, and recovers 16 sophisticated pistols and 7 live cartridges. Preliminary investigation reveals that the accused were allegedly in contact with a foreign-based handler who facilitated illegal arms consignments. The weapons were further supplied to criminal elements through an organised distribution network. Separate FIRs have been registered at PS Cantonment and PS Gate Hakima, #Amritsar. Further investigation is underway to uncover the complete network and establish the backward and forward linkages. @PunjabPoliceInd remains steadfast in its commitment to dismantling illegal arms networks and making Punjab a safer state.
