Jumpscare at my grocery store... We're all doomed 😭

One of the most original, thought-provoking survival horror games in recent memory. Striking art, a mysterious story that's intriguing from start to finish, and a perfect pairing of voice acting and soundtrack create unmatched ambiance and world-building. Exploration is very rewarding with upgrades, weapons, and lore. It also has strong puzzle design. Held back a bit by samey enemy design and minor combat glitches, but I still think this ranks among the greatest indie horror games out there.

A hauntingly beautiful story about psychological trauma, separation anxiety, and the loss of innocence. Unfortunately, unraveling that genius means wading through slug-like gameplay. Top-tier story, bottom-tier combat. So glad I finally got around to playing this dusty gem.

Finally finished Alice: Madness Returns and it definitely lives up to the hype. Much darker than I was expecting, with gorgeous twisted level visuals and very cool dress and weapon designs. The story stayed intriguing from start to finish, with plenty left to chew on after the fact. I assume a second playthrough hits much harder. I can see why it means so much to people 🥰🔪

David Lynch was the dream director for Silent Hill 😭 Del Toro would be an amazing runner-up. After Return to Silent Hill, please just pick someone who actually understands the games.

"It’s only Resident Evil in name" has been the exact same complaint for literally every entry since the original RE4. RE5, 6, 7, 8, the remakes... at this point, not even Resident Evil fans know what a Resident Evil game is supposed to be.

In another timeline where this movie isn’t called Resident Evil, and the discourse is identical except flipped. Instead of “this shouldn’t be called Resident Evil” it’s “wow they just made a Resident Evil clone and hoped nobody would notice” Same movie. Same people. Opposite sentence. This is the internet now days 🤓

Zach Cregger’s Resident Evil is the closest a movie has come to feeling like playing one of the games. Whether that makes it a good Resident Evil movie is the part worth arguing about. Full Review up on my Youtube 🤓

Ran into Myers while he was already swinging instead of just running away. Now the quote tweets and comments are demanding balance changes. Asym communities do this every single release. Play both sides for at least 10 hours before you start calling for changes 😅 These bad faith posts usually do more damage than good to a game’s balance and longevity.

This post is getting a ton of hate, but sadly he’s correct. I’m level 100 with 60 hours played, and once you start facing people who actually know how to play, the game sort of falls apart. It’s extremely fun right now, but it needs some massive changes to the core gameplay to survive past the honeymoon period.
