Socialism is a machine for consuming capital while pretending to create it.
Every socialist program starts the same way: a politician identifies something people want, promises to deliver it without a visible price tag, and taxes or prints the money to fund it. Venezuela had this down to an art form by 2015. Price controls on food, nationalized oil revenues redistributed as subsidies, Maduro declaring the supermarket shelves would stay full. By 2017, Venezuelans lost an average of 11 kilograms of body weight from hunger. The machine ate the capital, then ate the people.
Prices carry information. When a government fixes the price of bread below market, bakers stop baking. When it taxes productive capital to fund consumption, the capital stock shrinks. Ludwig von Mises called this the calculation problem: without genuine price signals, central planners are flying blind, allocating resources based on political pressure rather than actual scarcity. Chronic shortage sits underneath their rhetoric of abundance.
Rent is higher because zoning boards and rent stabilization laws choked off housing supply in cities like San Francisco for decades. Your healthcare costs more because Medicare and Medicaid inflate demand while regulatory capture insulates hospitals from competition. Specific politicians passed specific laws that produced specific shortages, then campaigned for re-election by blaming the market.
Voting for a slightly less interventionist candidate while holding your savings in dollars is rearranging furniture on a sinking ship. Hard assets held outside the banking system, particularly bitcoin, gold, property, and stocks, remove your stored labor from the reach of the printing press. This is a basic act of self-preservation in a system designed to extract your productivity under the guise of compassion.

What’s more ironic: a Tesla Supercharger in Edison NJ or the fact that that supercharger is DC?
Either way, I love me some @Wawa

If Republicans win the House of Representatives and the Senate in the 2026 Midterm Elections, I’m going to give all adult citizens in the United States of America, $5,000! Thank you for your attention to this matter, and I look forward to signing those checks!
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
This $5,000 “Trump Dividend” promise was first made in Sept. 2026. Similar prior DOGE and tariff check pledges have not been paid out. It would cost ~$1.2 trillion and require congressional approval.

Everything that can be corrupted will be corrupted. This unfortunately includes Bitcoin. The good news is that Bitcoin is the least corruptible of all things.

🎙️Break The Stake: How Corrupted Money Steals Your Energy Ep. 163 with @WhoIsJakeGalt
Jake Galt is a recovering CPA turned author, marketer and entrepreneur who writes under a pen name borrowed from Atlas Shrugged. He began his career as an auditor and that front row seat to the hollowness of the fiat system sent him down the Bitcoin rabbit hole, first for the technology, then for number go up, and eventually for freedom go up. He is the author of “Break the Stake” which we discuss in this episode: a framework for how corrupted money produces corrupted incentives and inverted outcomes across every layer of society. He founded Headcount, a marketing agency built on a platform that ingests a client's brand and voice, aimed at Bitcoin companies.

Even if you fear AI...
If you don't fear the state after COVID, you deserve the enslavement they have planned for you.
PETER THIEL CALLED IT.
The Antichrist wouldn’t build the doomsday machine.
This clip aged terrifyingly well.
Peter Thiel predicted in June, 26, 2025 exactly what is happening right now with Anthropic, Coxon and the AI-safety landscape.
“The way the Antichrist would take over the world is you talk about Armageddon non-stop, you talk about existential risk non-stop.”
The 'Antichrist' wouldn’t seize power by creating an AI apocalypse, but by CONVINCING everyone that the apocalypse was coming and then offering safety in exchange for CONTROL.
A must watch.

✔️ Bitcoin is a quantum computer.

Them: if you don’t vote, you can’t complain.
Me: Did you know you can not vote, not complain, and just exit their corrupt system with a smile on your face?
Governor Maura Healey (D) wants Massachusetts voters to remember that she is a former attorney general who “prosecuted and put away bad guys. Drug traffickers, human traffickers.”
Meanwhile, a Healey staffer is facing drug-trafficking charges, and the state somehow managed to mistakenly pay him $30,000 of taxpayer money after he was fired.
You cannot script this level of government incompetence.
Healey campaigns as the tough former prosecutor while the government she runs apparently cannot even prevent a fired employee facing serious criminal charges from receiving an erroneous taxpayer-funded payout.
Massachusetts does not have an accountability problem because taxpayers are not paying enough.
It has an accountability problem because one-party government has become so insulated from consequences that even spectacular failures are treated like routine administrative errors,
And Healey wants four more years.
This is a red herring of a proposition. The relationship between calories and bodies is not at all the same relationship that thinking has with the brain.
.@swell_school recently asked me “Given what happened to people’s bodies when cheap calories became widely available, what do you think will happen to people’s brains as cheap thinking becomes widely available?” and I cannot stop thinking about it.

Fix the money, fix the world.
It sounds too simple, but it really is that simple.

One of several DMs I’ve received in the last week that I’ve really appreciated, shared with permission. We’re all in this thing together. 🧡
Thanks Seed
Hubris check: I have said multiple times in public that if I hadn’t come up with @SeedSigner, that I would probably have been a coldcard user. I liked their messaging on privacy issues, I liked that they were bitcoin-only, and even I had the impression that rodolfo’s arrogance was the product of some level of expertise and having-your-shit-togetherness. I can’t blame many people for being convinced by the marketing. What matters from here is how people move forward. Dive in. Learn more. Do the work. Ask questions. Trust less. Get to a point where you have failsafes and diversified custody. Learn about multisig and at least give it a try (hint: you just need one SeedSigner to do this). Even if you decide it’s not for you, you’ll feel better about your setup and can share what you’ve learned with others. Take more control, not less — don’t be a cold storage NPC. 🧡
Bitcoin is freedom tech. It may be the most awesome freedom tech since the Colt .45 if not the parchment on which the Declaration was written. That said, the cold card fiasco has proven that even the most awesome freedom tech is not perfect. It requires continuous vigilance and care. My reaction to the way cold card has shaken me more than any other event since becoming a Bitcoiner in 2020. More than FTX. More than quantum fud. More than every fiat price swing.
I’m still a deep believer in the promise of permisionless stateless property. But it’s time for the the horizon of the freedom tech Bitcoiners are supporting in this world to expand. Energy Infrastructure is at the top of that list. That’s why projects like this one are awesome too.
On the issues that might actually meaningfully benefit you and your family uniparty is perfectly aligned… and their interests are not your interests.
