Happy Birthday Dad xxxxx
Today is my Dad’s 90th birthday, and I have a few words I’d like to say on this special occasion.
There is no man in the world I admire more than my Dad, and I have met many remarkable people. He’s the only man I’ve always wanted to be just like, but never will be. He’s my role model, my hero, a shining example of what it means to be a truly good man, and the best father anyone could wish for.
I think many of us want to see our Dad as a kind of knight in shining armour. Mine is. One evening many years ago I called him from somewhere far away. He dropped everything and flew half way round the world to help me. No questions asked, didn’t even finish his dinner. He turned up the very next day in some dubious corner of the world, unshaven, almost dead on his feet, because that’s what a Dad does.
He is the only man whose praise made my efforts worthwhile, whether it be building a sand castle when I was four, or walking on stage at Wembley when I was sixty four. To see pride in his eyes meant the world to me. Still does. Always will.
I love my Dad more than words can say, always have. He is everything a good man should be and I am proud to be his son. More than proud, I am honoured to be his son.
Happy 90th Dad. Xxxxxxxxx

Please do not leave out food or water for the ponies and other Commoners’ livestock
We understand everyone’s concerns for the Forest’s animals because of the wildfire near Ringwood and this sustained period of hot weather, however, please leave them alone.
The ponies are well adapted to the Forest, and the older mares have a good knowledge of water and food sources and will lead the herds to the right spots.
Petting and feeding of New Forest ponies and donkeys is not allowed and can lead to a fine.
We are also facing an ongoing spread of equine flu, so anything that encourages ponies to congregate, such as leaving out food and water, is highly discouraged.
The Agisters and Commoners are out regularly checking on the welfare of the livestock. If you see an injured, unwell, or distressed pony, cow or donkey, please contact the Verderers of the New Forest office.
