Andrew Webber had a successful career, a family, and two daughters in the United States. When Russia invaded Ukraine, he felt that was a great threat to global democracy and went to fight on the frontlines. He was killed in a combat mission.
Karla Webber, Andrew's mother, met with US congresspeople to persuade them to vote for the aid package for Ukraine. Mrs Webber told them that if the Ukrainians had been able to use artillery and her son had been wearing Kevlar protection gear, he would have been alive.
Mrs Webber said she had been attacked by Russian trolls multiple times.
