We just saw the dumbest play call in Michigan football history. Trailing Indiana 6-0, UM has third and goal from the 1. OC Jason Beck calls for freshman Tommy Carr to roll out and try to hit the Rhino guy, Beigel. Sacked. Missed FG. That's arrogance and stubborness from Beck.

Tommy Carr has been put in an impossible position. Anyone who thought Bryce Underwood was the main problem was kidding themselves. Michigan unfortunately replaced one incompetent coaching staff with another, and both QBs are now paying the price for that.

Bryce is still a horrible processor and incredibly inconsistent. That’s mainly on the coaching staff last year. Tommy Carr’s struggles are because he’s a true freshman.

Villanova backing out of the Big 5? Not a good look at all. Basketball in Philly has a distinct culture and network of people that spans so many generations. Nova's Big 5 ties carry meaning and significance and that shouldn't be tossed out. Hopefully this flips back ASAP.

The current format of Big 5 men's basketball will end after this year, and the immediate future has the 5 non-Villanova schools playing round-robin without the Wildcats. Villanova didn't want to keep this format, and another could not be agreed on. Story:inquirer.com/college-sports/…

On the other hand, even with games scheduled against La Salle and Temple, Villanova found room to host Holy Cross, Rider, Coppin State and Fairleigh Dickinson. Like all big schools these days, Villanova is just afraid to play nonconference games it has a 5%-20% chance of losing.
