One of my first jobs was working for BT on a Manpower contract in Liverpool.
I joined the CWU and got active.
They were fighting hard for jobs then. They’re fighting hard for jobs now.
Today TUC North West joined @CWUMersey protesting BT's proposed closure of its Liverpool site and moving of 600 jobs out of the city. Solidarity to all who have joined todays protest.

Really sad news that Fred Jepson passed away yesterday after a long illness.
A former President, NEC, Postal Executive and Mt Pleasant Branch member, Fred was a lifelong trade unionist and a larger than life advocate for our members and working class people.
He will always be remembered as one of the true characters of our Union and the movement. Our sincere condolences go to Cherry and the family.
Rest in peace Fred.

Nigel Farage has said that the handgun ban in the UK is ridiculous.
The ban was introduced after the tragedy of Dunblane.
His comments are a disgrace and an insult to all those who lost their lives at Dunblane.
The ban must never be reversed.
