I support Shabana. I do fear Reform will rise again if we don't properly address this.
Will the 'Boriswave' become a Burnham wave?
Boris-era arrivals now starting to apply for permanent residency - entitled to full welfare.
Shabana Mahmood says it'll cost £10bn unless rules change. She wants to stop it.
My column on her losing battle:-

Nice to come back from holiday to this kind and powerful letter from the @RNLI.
They really are taking notice of all the support.

The media hounded Meghan for not inviting her father to her wedding.
Shames on them.
I have been told that boat crossings have come down this summer because there are few migrants waiting to cross. 🙄
Open-borders Burnham is so weak that double the usual numbers of ‘asylum seekers’ are camping out on the French coastline waiting to invade Britain.
Nearly 4,000 people are in camps between Calais and Dunkirk, according to Border Security Commander Duncan Capps.
Labour’s Home Office claims they’ve been prevented from making the journey.
The reality is that because illegal migrants aren’t locked up when they’re intercepted, they simply try and try again, typically 7-8 times if necessary, until they make it over.
Like a sick computer game with unlimited attempts.
The most common nationalities among them?
Eritreans, Sudanese, Somalis, Ethiopians and Afghans.
All overwhelmingly men.
These nationalities are far more likely to be convicted of sex crimes than Brits.
Burnham is complicit in the horrors that follow.
Reform will end this madness.

Hi @IsabelOakeshott the @PrivateEyeNews revealed today you head a UAE company conducting unregistered lobbying activities in UK on behalf of African countries and that it involved British politicians (your husband included). Home Office unaware. Care to comment?
Why are certain unions fighting for cheap foreign Labour in the battle with Shabana Mahmood. Baffles me.

The collapse in violent crime over three decades has been one of the most striking developments of my lifetime.
News is about what’s going wrong, and rightly so. But the bigger picture also matters
From today’s figures:-
My concern isn't how he conducted himself re the jury trials, but how he was with me and other Labour members. I hope he has got the help he needs, but at the same time he shouldn't be rewarded for bullying and intimidating behaviour as he was with me. Not good.
So Labour MP Karl Turner has had his suspension lifted after apologising for past conduct
Hull East MP Karl Turner has had the Labour whip restored on a probationary basis after apologising for unacceptable and uncollegiate behaviour.
He had led a revolt against Keir Starmer’s plan to scrap jury trials, a proposal later dropped by Andy Burnham.
Turner said his approach during the disagreements was overly robust even though his concerns about justice were sincere.
The party welcomed his apology and future undertakings.
Thoughts?
As someone that has been on X most days for about 5 years... I can tell it's election time in America. #BotsForDays

Reform like to talk a good game about being anti-establishment. But we can now all see the reality. If they ever did make it to government they would use the power of the state to try and shut down any legitimate scrutiny. And they're not even bothering to hide it any more.

Comfortable win for Andy Burnham this week. Mistake by Kemi Badenoch to go on Jackdaw after Government approval today. Another mistake to have a dig over music on trains. People care about this stuff. Plus Truss book is a gift.
It's embarassing that these cuts are happening under a Labour government. Lisa Nandy - this is your moment! Where are ya!?
So BBC Three, Scotland and R4 Extra are going. We are watching the death by a thousand cuts of a great British institution.
From major sporting events, to national celebrations, the BBC has a unique ability to bring the country together. But, successive Governments have left our BBC in a state of managed decline.
@LibDems are calling for a permanent charter to end this cyclical uncertainty hanging over the BBC’s future and protect it for generations to come.
Once the BBC is gone, it is gone for good. It's time we made the choice to save it.
