The conditions allowing for the safe return of Ms. Machado to Venezuela is the direct result of the U.S. supported reconciliation talks which has already seen hundreds of political prisoners freed and hundreds of political opposition figures return from exile.
The United States expects the freedoms of all sectors of Venezuelan politics to continue to be respected. Likewise, we expect all political actors to support these talks which represent the best chance Venezuela has had in thirty years to peacefully achieve not just a free and fair election but an enduring democracy.

Venezuelan opposition leader Maria Corina Machado has returned to her home country after nearly a year outside the country and multiple failed homecoming attempts.

Trump is VERY WEAK on Putin. And VERY WEAK on Ukraine and democracy. Americans want better. Americans stand for Freedom. We oppose the dictator and hate the war criminal.

We are way past "but judges." Conservatives need to speak plain truths, no longer default to party line votes, and actively fight for a better GOP, or build a new party. The Trump led GOP is sick, corrupt, and a betrayal of the values that once animated our great party. – at Falls Church, VA

Helping Putin in Ukraine is reckless. He would not stop with Ukraine and our NATO allies would be next. Putin is fanatically committed to restoring Russia’s glory days, calling the collapse of the Soviet Union “the greatest geopolitical catastrophe of the century” and claiming Russia was "robbed" in the breakup.

Reminder: Thom Tillis, John Cornyn, and Bill Cassidy are all current sitting Senators. They have the ability to do more than complain and put out statements. If they don’t act now, when they have real power, I don’t want to see them on TV in four months opining.

Beyond irresponsible. What part of enforcing a law passed 86-11 by the Senate does the President and his advisors not understand? It’s unconscionable that this administration is capitulating to a Russian dictator who illegally invaded Ukraine and butchers innocent civilians every single day. If the President wants to actually bring down energy prices, he can do it by solving the Iran problem, not by doing a solid for Vladimir Putin.

Ukraine is our partner. Russia is the aggressor. Rewarding Putin with sanctions relief while pressuring Ukraine to stop defending itself gets that backward. America should stand with the country being invaded.

This is political malpractice. My party's midterm closing arguments are:
-It's ok to buy oil from a thug dictator in Russia so he can kill more Ukrainians.
-It's ok to livestream the execution of a murderer.
-The economy is doing great and Americans just don’t get it.

We should be holding Putin accountable for his aggression, not helping fund his war against Ukraine. That’s why I joined my colleagues in calling on the administration to reverse course on Russian diesel imports and uphold the sanctions Congress put in place.

Allowing Russian diesel fuel to be sold freely in global markets, including in the United States, weakens American security interests and helps fund Putin’s ongoing invasion of Ukraine.
Today, I joined 11 of my Senate colleagues in a bipartisan letter to @POTUS urging him to rescind this deal with Putin. We must maintain economic pressure to keep our negotiating position strong and protect vital U.S. national security interests.
As the most conservative Republican you’ve ever met, let me say the following: I hope Speaker Hakeem Jeffries suspends funding for ICE until the cruel & heartless policies crafted by @StephenM are stopped.
