great news
the barrier to entry into robotics has just dropped significantly
i can imagine a world where building a specialized robot will be much simpler in practice
let's make more robotics companies :-)

Pope Leo is right.
Art is not some kind of superfluous luxury that can be eliminated from our lives. It is a crucial part of the human experience.
We cannot let Big Tech oligarchs destroy it.
In this era of artificial intelligence, it is becoming urgent to distinguish human art from what machines produce. There is an ontological difference, even before an aesthetic one, between art and what a machine can generate through statistical calculation based on millions of images created by others. Algorithms lack the spark of humanity. For this reason, the Church wishes to renew an alliance with artists and cultural institutions to safeguard our humanity.

It's a struggle to figure out the math behind chaotic systems, especially when the data is limited and noisy. PEM-UDE can recover interpretable equations from messy, chaotic data, and it yields testable predictions about neural networks.

The solution: Make a photoswitchable CRISPR system small enough to fit in a single AAV, and produce light at specific locations in vivo by ultrasound-triggered light production from mechanoluminescent particles.
Hmm, some engineering was needed...

What is important is not so much how long you live as whether you live a meaningful life. This doesn’t mean accumulating money and fame, but being of service to your fellow human beings. It means helping others if you can, but even if you can’t do that, at least not harming them.

🖐️ Robotics has a tactile data problem.
Vision can leverage internet-scale images and videos, but touch is fundamentally different: every tactile sample has to come from a physical interaction.
Different objects, contact locations, poses, forces, and different sensor instances can all produce very different tactile observations. Collecting these variations in the real world is slow, expensive, and difficult to scale.
❓So we asked:
Can we synthesize diverse and useful tactile interactions from just a single real tactile image?
Introducing ControlTac : Scaling Tactile Data with Physically Controlled Tactile Image Generation, accepted by #CoRL2026 🧵👇
✦ Using a single tactile image with initial contact for reference
✦ Conditioned on contact force and pose for generation
✦ Ensuring realism and diversity in the generated images
✦ Generating images for downstream tasks like force estimation and pose estimation
✦ Evaluate on real-robot tasks like object weighting, insertion, and imitation learning
