Kallak's high-grade iron ore can help deliver green steel capable of significantly reducing CO2 emissions associated with carmaking, whilst @Grafintec is creating an integrated graphite anode supply chain for EV batteries.
Grafintec's site reservation in the Keltakallio industrial area, and subsequent extension until 30 June 2027, marks a major step forward in the establishment of the GAMP - a scalable, modular plant that will initially produce 25,000 tpa of Coated Spherical Purified Graphite.
The Swedish Government has declared mining a 'national security interest' and highlighted the need to reduce reliance on China, with measures now being considered to speed up permitting and help attract investment.
