the format works if you get rid of the hour of non-basketball between everything lol

To be fair, that's ten minutes more than the past 8 years of this event.
It's been 75 minutes and I've seen 10 minutes of basketball

In their two matchups this season, Jayson Tatum outscored Luka Doncic, 71-70, while attempting 15 fewer shots. Also in those two games, Tatum was +44 and Doncic was -33. We'll just leave it at that.

Boston’s starting five is 14-1 entering today’s game, with a net rating of nearly plus 20 points per 100 possessions. Celtics showing what they are capable of with this blistering start against the Lakers today.

Correct. And part of the reason they could get away with it was it was an NBA owned show built to market the league. Top goal of social platforms I mentioned is engagement farming. Chasing those metrics is equivalent to thinking McDonalds is great for longterm health.

Yes!
Agreed. Also the BR's, Overtimes, etc all focus on the same 5-10 players. Inside Stuff would do a segments on Juwan Howard, Big Dog Robinson and Mitch Richmond types.

Ahmad was great. Most players are bad at storytelling and don’t understand what brings lifelong customers. Most of it is superficial
Replying to @JonesOnTheNBA
Ahmad is one of the main reasons I got into sports journalism/athlete storytelling. They don’t make that stuff like they used to. I’m glad many players do it themselves tho

I wonder if the NBA should have their own YouTube show that’s longer format than the empty calorie social stuff I mentioned. Inside Stuff for gen z and alpha? 🤔

Thinking about Inside Stuff. That show and NBA Action were the ULTIMATE youth customer acquisition tools for the NBA in the 90s. The NBA has kinda seeded that to Bleacher Report, Overtime, House of Highlights, etc. Problem is most of their content doesn’t do in-depth storytelling

I'm pretty sure serialized cards are great for players. They eat up value making other cards cheap. Whales get collectables, players get cheaper cards, seems like a win-win to me.
