June 14 passed without a payment. On July 15 we agreed to settle the whole amount at $24,000, with 20% of his cashouts going toward it. Since then he has paid back around $1,000.
We then tried to sell the debt to a third party and come to a resolution where he pays $1,000 a week. He still doesn't agree, and he thinks $500 a week is fair. At that pace, a one-week marker would take almost a year to repay.
Which is quite different to what was agreed originally.
So we're no longer interested in giving options to this individual.
We have full trust that @Stake will deal with this accordingly and help us get scammers out of this space for good.
Before we approved anything, we set out the terms in writing: no interest until June 14, then 5% daily compounding interest for every 24 hours the marker went unpaid. He agreed to them for the first $10,000, and again for the second.
We said yes because he had paid us back in the past.

Our goal with this project has always been simple: build a genuinely fair loaning environment for this community.
The reality is that most streamers and gamblers here are going to take loans regardless of what we do, so instead of ignoring that, we built something to cut out the predatory practices and offer a safe, well-run alternative.
We believe this project can be a reliable, trusted part of the community. That said, no system is immune to bad actors, and we know that a small number of people trying to exploit or damage what we've built can create real headaches, for us and for everyone else using the platform in good faith.
We also understand we won't make everyone happy. But at the end of the day, we offer 0% interest loans and genuinely care about the people we work with, which is more than can be said for other lenders in this space. We've seen reputable streamers being charged a minimum of 5% interest, with rates climbing to 20-30% or higher. That's not a fair market, and it's exactly the problem we set out to fix.
With BetBoltBank 2.0, we're expanding on this foundation with more features and a more organized, structured system.
Well, this morning has been quite entertaining to say the least, but I'm seeing some misinformation here and there, so I'll clarify:
The idea for @BetBoltBank originally came from Babix. He has been part of this community for years and has seen firsthand how predatory the existing loan market can be.
The BBBank was created specifically as a response to that problem. We offer 0% interest on our markers because the house edge and the marketing value we receive from providing this liquidity are more than enough compensation for us.
Babix has always been very careful about who receives these markers. We do not give someone a marker simply because they are chasing losses, nor do we provide liquidity to someone who has explicitly said they are struggling or are in a vulnerable position.
I've also seen a lot of people say, "If you loan others money to gamble, you deserve to get scammed." In many cases, the people saying this are themselves people who have taken loans to gamble, lost the money, and are now looking for a justification to avoid paying it back.
If you willingly take a loan to gamble and then lose that money, you are not the victim of some elaborate scheme. You made a decision, you accepted the terms, and you are responsible for the outcome. Perhaps it's best to make peace with your skill issue.
