It’s PhD interview season! It’s always bothered me that some applicants get penalized for being “unprepared”, when they may just be unfamiliar with academia. ⁦@lexafriedman⁩ and colleagues ⁦@busphEH⁩ tell you what you need to know. #phdlife alexafriedman.medium.com/thi…

This is wrong, and discriminates against PhD students who have complex family situations, can’t afford to live “socially distant” in Boston, etc., with disproportionate impact on students of color. This should be walked back. It’s never too late to do the right thing.
Boston University says graduate students must come back to campus in person in the fall. If they don't, they may lose their health insurance, stipends, or be forced to take a leave of absence: bit.ly/3dqQQ9n #highered #coronavirus #COVID19

The federal government has an obligation to help municipalities make urgently needed upgrades to their sewer infrastructure to help prevent CSO pollution, which is why I have a bill to do just that. But we can’t wait, we must take precautions to alert residents now. 2/2

I was proud to join with Rep. @sethmoulton yesterday to introduce the STOP CSO Act. This bill would require local governments to alert residents within 4 hours if storm water overwhelms sewage plants and carries sewage into rivers & watersheds. 1/2 eagletribune.com/news/haverh…

Today is the UN World Day of Social Justice. Let's remember that environmental justice is a key element of social justice. When vulnerable populations lack clean air and clean water, their ability to thrive is greatly diminished. #SocialJusticeDay. @CRESSH_Mass @busphEH @BUSPH
