The White House digital team is activating a presence on Reddit as part of our strategy around hurricane response and preparedness -- calling out misinformation and providing resources to those who need it. See our post in r/NorthCarolina as an example: reddit.com/r/NorthCarolina/c…

The @WhiteHouse is launching a Reddit account. The goal: keeping the public informed on Hurricane Helen/Milton response, recovery & preparedness. They will also be sharing info on state-based sub-Reddits, & larger sub-Reddits like r/politics, where they can correct misinfo

We just watched Donald Trump come slowly unraveled. He was angry and incoherent. Kamala Harris was focused and presidential. He defended dictators. She defended democracy. He ranted while she laid out clear plans for lower costs, more freedom and a new way forward. - RC

Big Pharma defeated. Manufacturing brought home. Largest climate investment ever. Historic job growth. America not at war for the first time in decades. More Americans with health care than ever. New benefits for veterans. Decency restored to the Oval Office. Joe. Biden.

🗣️ THERE'S ONLY ONE WAY TO DIRECTLY SUPPORT KAMALA HARRIS AND IT'S AT KAMALAHARRIS.COM
No one should give money to these Spam PACs—ever. But especially not now when a direct contribution to @KamalaHarris's campaign so clearly helps to reset the race for president and show Democratic unity. P.S. — There's no such things a 600% match. Just a pure nonsensical lie.

Joe Biden has earned his place among the best and most consequential presidents in American history. I am so proud to serve under his leadership, and thankful for his unwavering focus on what is best for our country.

the difference between each candidate calling the other a threat to American democracy is that it's true of Trump and not true of Biden

ICYMI, the full exposition of this talk by @zittrain on renegade #AI agents is now available as an op-ed in @TheAtlantic: theatlantic.com/technology/a…
Legal scholar Jonathan Zittrain on the the risks of AI agents: "Give it a few goals, let it have a bank account, let it draw from the bank account to spend money on stuff ... and then who knows where it ends up?"

The Fourth of July is about celebrating the big, bold, inclusive experiment that is our American democracy. And it has always been an experiment. Our democracy has never been guaranteed, which means we can’t take it for granted. We need to keep fighting for it, keep improving it, and keep making sure it reflects the better angels of our nature instead of the worst. That, more than anything, is what America is all about.

"This routinization of AI that doesn’t simply talk with us, but also acts out in the world, is a crossing of the blood-brain barrier between digital and analog, bits and atoms. That should give us pause." @zittrain on the looming bot crisis: theatlantic.com/technology/a…

This is the money quote for the whole Trump v. United States case. Justice Barrett has it exactly right — and shows why the Court (and maybe the Special Counsel) is making this way too hard. The sole question should be whether acts relating to running for president are core executive functions or not. Obviously, they are not. The President has no role in the selection of the President. Period.

Women in sports continue to push new boundaries and inspire us all. But right now we're seeing that even if you're the best, women are not paid their fair share. It’s time that we give our daughters the same opportunities as our sons and ensure women are paid what they deserve.
