We lost a true friend yesterday. Joe Madison, “The Black Eagle”, was a radio legend and freedom fighter. He was as committed to issues that affected Black America as anyone I’ve ever known. I first met him in Detroit when he was with the local chapter of The NAACP.

One of my favorite memories from Video Soul was the day Shock G came through sprinkling Humpty dust all over BET. It was only time I can remember where everyone got into the act. We even showed the control room doing The Humpty Dance with fake noses on. He was so much fun.
