"For more than 30 years, BioWare has been more than a studio. It has been a home for storytellers, developers... who brought our worlds to life." >Ray Muzyka and Greg Zeschuk were 2 of the 3 cofounders and joint CEOs of Bioware, and had left the company in 2012. James Ohlen, the lead designer/creative director of Baldur’s Gate 1 & 2, Neverwinter Nights, KOTOR, Dragon Age Origins, & SWTOR, left in 2018. BioWare is one of a DOZEN Ships of Theseus within the games industry. "Baldur's Gate" >Lost the license to Larian Studios "Neverwinter Nights" >Lost the license to Beamdog "Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic" >now owned by Disney "Dragon Age" >Dead "Mass Effect" >Dead "Anthem" >Dead on arrival >No mention of Jade Empire "Now, after more than three decades of shared adventures, BioWare is closing" >Dragon Age Inquisition was the last great success for BioWare... IN 2014. From 1997 to 2014, Bioware released a game around every 2 years. From 2017 to now, Bioware has released Mass Effect Andromeda, Anthem, and Dragon Age Veilguard, which were total failures, and the only success being the Mass Effect trilogy remaster in 2021. Bioware has been a joke for almost TEN of those thirty years. "Our focus right now is on our incredibly talented team who put their hearts into these games" >If your "incredibly talented" team wrote better stories and released games that didn't need 15gb patches in the first week, you'd still be in business. "What generations of BioWare built together is something to celebrate and remember. These games became so much more because you played them, debated your choices, fell in love with the characters, and made these worlds your own." >Almost ZERO founding staff had ANYTHING to do with Bioware's output since 2014. During the company's peak creative years they had a staff of 50 to 150. Andromeda, Anthem, and Veilguard were each developed by 200 to 300 people and all three flopped. YOU ALL DESERVED THIS.
