Anti-doping isn’t an insult to a rider. It’s there to protect every clean rider. Nobody gets carte blanche, no matter how popular or successful. A 2am test should be rare and justified - the yellow jersey isn’t an invisibility cloak. Follow the evidence, apply the rules equally.

According to L'Équipe, the 2 a.m. and 5 a.m. anti-doping tests on Jonas Vingegaard and Tadej Pogacar were reportedly authorized by a french judge under French 2015 law, requiring "serious and consistent suspicions" and a risk of evidence being lost.
