Cell phone addiction is an absolute thermonuke to the brain and nobody 'takes it seriously' because it is not clear that there is any solution in a world where the revealed preference of everyone across the globe, regardless of income, race, age, any factor whatsoever, would rather be on their phone than do *anything* else. Deciding "I use this too much" and meaningfully altering one's behaviour doesn't seem to have much success for any of the very small minority of people with the sentience or self-reflection to realize how bad it is. Most people seem to think of it as an unproductive habit at most, rather than an addiction. Any attempt to speak seriously about this is met with derision, accusations of pretentiousness. There is no real solution to it. The future of human cognition fifty years down the line is horrifying if you stop and think about it for even a moment.

AI needs to move to Bed-Stuy with 4 roommates
AI is book smart. Not street smart.

Thinking about the criteria for a human token limit for AI interaction: - # decisions / day - # tokens that need to be read / day - # context switches / day - Ending with clear actions to start the next day with - Time blocks with no reviews needed but work still happening Does anyone have more good criteria or implement something like this with their agentic tools?

We need to learn from management techniques and how we can apply those to working with agents and defining best practices + set clear boundaries of how to work with them Managers, directors, executives all have 10s, 100s, or 1000s of people under them doing work that they can't control or necessarily understand the quality. They might work hard, but don't experience this deep brain fry, so there must be a way.
AI was supposed to make us work less I've never been this tired in my life most days I have up to 10 agents running at the same time. one fixing a bug, one writing pages, one refactoring something I already forgot I asked for, 3 other I have no idea what they are doing but i suppose i ask it? and I jump from conversation to conversation all day compared to 5 years ago, I probably context switch 100x more by the end of the day my brain is fried. completely toasted. nothing left, not even for the people I love I call it the fried brain effect thought it was just me but almost every founder I talk to lately says the exact same thing we got superpowers, and somehow the pressure only went up. if you can ship 10x more, you feel like you have to ship 10x more. every single day I don't have a solution honestly I have no idea where this goes from here anyone else feeling this?

I'm in tech and barely wanna manage one of my own personal software apps 😭
the idea that everyone will vibe-code personal software sound really great until you talk to 10 people outside of tech

996 was such a trend but isn’t the direction we’re heading gonna be needing your phone or computer for just an hour a day? What would you need to do with that hour and what would you do with the other 23?

Head of Shabbat? Like a rabbi? Feels like we’re gonna AI ourselves back to the Crusades
post AGI jobs: - person who just moved to sf - head of coffee chats - head of dating discourse - head of shabbat - chief of staff

Actually how do we deal with the multi agent, multi provider problem? What does the clear path to bounce around with your context and tools look like?
most people don't understand how much leverage a swarm of personal agents gives you. i have poke, instinct, muse, dot, grok bot, pickle, bunch of other agents you've never even heard of doing my bidding (all texting me at once when an unimportant email hits my inbox)

Went out to GDG Queens DevFest to vibe *deploy* my game live on stage with Claude Code to @googlecloud Cloud Run + Firestore. We have so much superintelligence available right now. Let's make it accessible and put it in the hands of the community.

Nice set of AI events in NYC this week! Gonna see if I can make any fit into my schedule 🙏
if you're in nyc this week and don't know where to connect with people in AI 🗽 check out these events (10/6 - 10/12) 👇

AI dev tools kill coding’s soft fascination and zen flow states. It’s important to incorporate some intentional mindfulness as a way to restore that aspect of software engineering in this new wave of technology Interesting vid that got me thinking about this idea: @FryRsquared @RestIsScience @michaelstevens youtu.be/7sJLgNxGWu8?is=RLN9…

Feeling jealous of all the SF tech week chatter, does anyone in NYC have any great tech meetups/groups they really love? Mainly looking to see what others are building and connect with other devs vs listening to product pitches

this feels so 2013 data mining coded but also feels like the optimization that ai is promising all of us
I ran a simulation built on 700 million real MTA trips. It said to close the 3rd Avenue L stop. stopthestop.com

Lots of discussion out there about our next model(!), so I wanted to give an early look as soon as possible. Introducing Gemini 4 Argon! It shows frontier performance in complex workflows, cyber defense and software engineering. Teams are using it extensively at Google, from coding to quantum computing, great feedback. Here’s a look at the benchmarks:

kinda just been loving my no reservation neighborhood spots without sending an AI agent to war for a mediocre $30 burger with no sides
Instinct CEO Noah Shinn says agents will let restaurants give tables to birthdays and anniversaries over whoever clicks first "And traditionally, because of the way that the internet has worked, at least for reservations, it's been first come first serve. So anyone that comes in, no matter how important or how not important it might be, whoever gets in first gets the reservation." "But what if you had the ability for the agent to be able to communicate on both sides, communicate, hey, this is important. This is actually the person's spouse's birthday, the 30th birthday, a very special event is coming up." "And the restaurant too can say, let's actually prioritize birthdays or major decade birthdays or major anniversaries or these certain people, I don't know, whatever it might be, right?" "So now with the ability, with all of the logistical burden of having to describe exactly what your case is and what's happening and why it's important. Now we have the ability to perfectly match what does the restaurant want? What does the user want?" "And that will result in more special events for the users being able to actually have a spot in the restaurant."

coded a jevved up pomodoro app that forces me to stay on task 🍅 type the task, then jev gets asked "is this related to {task}?" for every window and tab, with a 4s warning before closing anything that isn't. really taking advantage of jev's low latency decision making

Awesome experimentation here. Sometimes the question can be answered with a simpler model and sometimes not. This is a great way to combine and so cool to see it on a 10M row dataset 🫪
Tested @typesafeai's Jev against BigQuery’s AI.IF and AI.CLASSIFY from 1 to 100k rows (and pushed BQ to 10,000,000). Findings: - 1-50k rows: Jev via Cloud Run is fastest - 50k-10M rows: BigQuery optimized flattens model cost - Cascade (Jev + Gemini): top accuracy at 1/3 the cost Great options for devs at any scale!
