Up to 800,000 people in France🇫🇷 were on the streets for the uprising against the neoliberal government of Emmanuel Macron today, according to the CGT trade union; a rebellion against the oligarch class.  This is a revolt by the struggling working classes of France who have seen their living conditions decline and their wealth disappear, not because of immigrants, but the immense concentration of wealth by the shareholder class, at the expense of everyone else.  In 2024, 9.8 million people in metropolitan France live below the poverty line, with 16.3% being at risk of poverty in 2026. Households have seen a catastrophic loss of purchasing power, an IFE estimate shows a family of two adults and two children has lost €1,200 in purchasing power since 2024.  By 2024, the richest 1% in France controlled 27.7% of total national household wealth, and took in 11.8% of national income.  In education, the situation is shockingly dire. 15.4 million teaching hours have been lost in France across the last school year because absent staff were not replaced. The average secondary school class size is now above 30, a record high. 53% of schools are short of teachers. And the approximate salary for teachers? Just €2100.  A child born and schooled in a deprived neighbourhood in France has less chance of escaping their socioeconomic background than in most developed nations according to the OECD.  The media wants to divide people by blaming the protests on immigrants, pushing the narrative of ‘indigenous French vs immigrant protesters’ to completely avoid class struggle. In reality this is the French working classes rising up in unity as their living standards and material conditions deteriorate, while Macron’s government continues to serve the oligarchy.

🔴 UKAINE. 🇺🇦 Vadim Novinsky, milliardaire, ancien copropriétaire du plus grand groupe sidérurgique d’Ukraine Metinvest, ex-député et protodiacre de l’Église orthodoxe ukrainienne canonique, a accordé un long entretien au média ukrainien Strana sur la manière dont Zelensky a accepté les conditions de la Russie en 2022, avant de se rétracter. « Il a troqué des vies ukrainiennes contre des applaudissements » : l’homme qui a organisé les négociations de 2022 s’exprime ! Comment cela a commencé, Le 24 février 2022, David Arakhamia, chef du parti de Zelensky au parlement, a appelé Novinsky en haut-parleur et lui a demandé quoi faire. Novinsky lui a dit de contacter immédiatement Moscou, « tant qu’il n’y avait pas encore autant de morts ». Le lendemain, le chef d’un service de sécurité ukrainien lui a demandé d’organiser des négociations, en disant « le président le demande ». Cinq minutes plus tard, il était au téléphone avec Zelensky. Novinsky a contacté Dmitri Kozak, alors adjoint au chef de l’Administration présidentielle russe. Zelensky a refusé Minsk comme lieu, Novinsky a proposé Gomel, Zelensky a accepté, et Kozak a confirmé en cinq minutes. Ce à quoi Zelensky a accepté, Novinsky dit qu’il a validé chaque point par téléphone avec Zelensky, et ajoute que les services de sécurité ukrainiens « doivent avoir les enregistrements ». Zelensky n’a jamais discuté. Il a seulement demandé « Qu’en penses-tu ? » puis a dit « D’accord, j’accepte ». 1️⃣ Retirer l’adhésion à l’OTAN de la constitution et déclarer la neutralité. Novinsky a demandé à Zelensky si l’Ukraine rejoindrait l’OTAN dans les 30 prochaines années. Zelensky a dit non. 2️⃣ Un statut spécial pour la Crimée pendant 30 ans, sans la reconnaître comme russe 3️⃣ Un statut spécial pour le Donbass, qui aurait pu rester partie de l’Ukraine dans un arrangement de type confédéral « Il était très confus et acceptait n’importe quelle option », dit Novinsky. Le processus a duré environ un mois, jusqu’à la session d’Istanbul fin mars. Pourquoi cela s’est effondré, Novinsky blâme le leadership ukrainien. Peut-être Boris Johnson ou quelqu’un d’autre a influencé Zelensky, dit-il, « ou Zelensky aimait simplement être un héros ». « Il aimait les ovations, l’attention du monde entier. Où qu’il aille, on l’accueillait comme le Pape. Au final, il a troqué des vies ukrainiennes contre des applaudissements dans les parlements étrangers. » Ce qui a suivi, En mai 2025, Zelensky a accusé Novinsky de l’avoir menacé lors de ces appels. Novinsky qualifie cela de « pure calomnie » : il était à Kiev à l’époque, où une escouade d’assassins ou le Service de sécurité d’Ukraine aurait pu venir le chercher à tout moment. Il n’est parti qu’après avoir été averti que Zelensky exigeait son arrestation « tous les jours ». Il a depuis été sanctionné trois fois et accusé de trahison, ce qu’il dit être pour avoir exigé que Kiev applique les accords de Minsk, et d’« incitation à la haine religieuse » pour avoir défendu son église. Il dit que le bureau de Zelensky a aussi essayé d’utiliser ses actions gelées pour prendre le contrôle de Metinvest. Il vit maintenant en Croatie et a récemment obtenu la citoyenneté serbe, après que Kiev a refusé de lui délivrer un nouveau passeport. Le 10 octobre, Novinsky a appelé Zelensky à démissionner et le parlement à prendre le pouvoir et à négocier directement avec la Russie. Quelques heures plus tard, Trump a dit que l’Ukraine « a besoin d’un nouveau leader ». Novinsky dit que c’était une coïncidence. « Chaque nouvel accord est pire que le précédent. Alastair Crooke (@AWCrooke) names what the empire will not: the West has lost its economic foundations, interest payments on US debt exceed the defense budget, the financial system must be ripped up by its roots and largely started again, its wars are lost, and the political class has no language for telling its own people the truth. “The West, including the United States, is in a period of severe decline. Everyone outside of the West can see that. Some people in Europe, our leaders, still think that nothing’s changed; everything can go on just as before. They will see that. But is the United States, is the West ready to start adjusting, explaining to their own electorates and their own people that the West is no longer going to be supreme, is not going to be primus inter pares? It is going to be one amongst a number of powers. Are they going to manage this? How are they going to manage it? Because the second part of this is precisely why I said the architecture is collapsing: there’s no answer to the contradictions in the economy. The economy has these basic contradictions which produce this binary economy of a huge increase in wealth, ostentatious wealth for a certain group at the top in the financial world, and then penury, precarity, as I put it, living on the edge for the rest of the world. And how do you change that? You’d have to rip up the financial system by its roots and largely start again, because it’s not going to be killed by just trying to go back. That era before 2008 and from 2008 onwards is gone, where you had zero interest rates, anyone could borrow money, credit was being pushed by the banks, and what it’s ended up as is a mountain of debt and the inability even really to pay the interest. The interest on that debt in the United States is more than the entire cost of the defense budget. I mean, it’s become huge. That’s just the interest; that’s not repaying the debt. And much of that debt has to be rolled over and then refinanced, as you do on a mortgage at the end of a period. You have to start refinancing, and they’ll say, well, sorry, you had it at a very favorable rate before, but now it’s going to cost you a lot more. And that’s happening in Europe and certainly in the United States. So that structure, that whole architecture is broken by these three wars. And the answer to your question is: is the West psychologically capable of, first of all, understanding that, accepting it, and then finding the way to get out of that and to prepare their people for the sense that this is lost, this is a disaster, and that we have to find a way. Which means capitulation to Russia. It means capitulation in the Gulf States. And also perhaps waving goodbye to much of the Gulf architecture which was previously an American prerogative.”
