Jacinda Ardem, "professor of practice" (whatever that is...?! Never heard of this) at the Public Health school. I mean, why should you have medical professionals teach medicine when you can have politicians whose only argument is moral virtue do it? The future of medicine is bright! 🥳

Oh! It's liking having the actual BBC back. The interview with Professor Sallie Baxendale starts at 19.40. She is asked sensible questions, in a normal way. Thank-you @BBCRadio4.
Good work from BBC here - interview with Professor Sallie Baxendale about being hounded by TRAs for doin science.

The vile comments on this post offer a snapshot of what Jewish people face daily. I’m not Jewish, but I’ve had a torrent of abuse since calling out antisemitism in schools. It’s not acceptable and these people are gross.

Me in praise of the culture wars, on Spiked
Wherever a sane person questions the latest mad dogma from the left, they’re immediately dismissed for fighting a ‘culture war’. Well, if opposing euthanasia, trans dogma and censorship makes me a ‘culture warrior’, then sign me up to fight, says Gillian Philip

So because statistically, sober drivers are involved in more fatal crashes than drunk drivers in absolute numbers, that's the statistic I should bear in mind when deciding whether I get in a drunk or sober person's car for a lift home, right?

The perfect reply doesn’t exist - oh hang on, now it does.
We were in a local West End of Glasgow cafe/restaurant where we know a lot of the staff and started talking to one of the chefs for the first time and it came around to asking him his name. He bet us jokingly that we never guess it for a £100.
The second brother was called Harrison so we were all waiting for what the 3rd brother was called with great anticipation.
🧵Am struck by how quickly the thermostatic flip in public opinion on tax and spending seems to have happened this Parliament. In 2024, Britons prioritised investing in public services over cutting tax (54% - 30%). Now, that’s flipped: 49% choose tax cuts, 36% public services

Shocking new data out of Washington state on trans-related diagnoses.
"Even measured against the DSM-5’s highest estimates, the 2022 rate among teen girls in Washington was nearly 600 times greater, and among teen boys nearly 60 times greater."
By @LeorSapir in @CityJournal.
NEW: At least 15,437 Washington minors had a transgender-related diagnosis on their insurance claims from 2017 to 2023.
In 2022, that included 1 in 58 teen girls.

Everyone involved in this war, dare I say it, from both sides of the trenches, should read @terfdiarist - it’s an invaluable documentation of, as it turns out, only a fraction of the lunacy. But crystal clear examples of how insane it all became.

Why are some people pretending to find the @RRRunnersUK campaign hard to understand? Parkrun publish weekly results in a "female" category. The only purpose for that is to show females how they did compared to other females. There is no place for any men in those female results.
