My husband had a rule I completely disagreed with.
Whenever his mother or siblings needed money, he would send the money to my account first and ask me to transfer it to them.
I didn't understand why he couldn't just send it directly.
One day, his younger sister called me.
“Thank you so much, Aunty. I honestly don't know what I would have done without you.”
I was confused.
I asked, “What are you thanking me for?”
She said, “The money you sent. Brother told me you insisted on helping me.”
I went quiet.
That evening, I confronted my husband.

President John Mahama has justified government’s decision to reject a health compact from the United States, describing the terms as humiliating.
The United States offered some $100 million to Ghana to support its health needs through a compact that reportedly required access to the health records of Ghanaians in exchange.
A demand the President flatly rejected, with full Cabinet backing.
Speaking at the Council on Foreign Relations engagement, a side event of the UN General Assembly, the President said Ghana will not be a dumping ground under his watch.
