Reminder that in Pierre Trudeau's last term in office (1980-1984) he almost cut immigration levels IN HALF, from 143,000 PR admissions to 88,000.
That's because Canada was going through a recession, and it made no sense to add large numbers of new people into the Canadian labour market when people were struggling to find work.
Now that young people are struggling to find work, wages are lagging behind inflation, there is huge excess demand over supply in our health care system, and public support for immigration is waning, what does the Liberal government do?
Massively increase immigration levels.
This is one of the worst public policy decisions in modern Canadian history. And unlike most bad policies, it is effectively irreversible.

I am shocked and disgusted by the story of Captain Ken Kunkel who was assaulted by two kids and this woman while supervising air cadets selling poppies. He’s now undergone emergency spinal surgery and may never walk again.
The 11 year old who did this can’t be charged, and the 12 year old will get some minor penalty. This is not justice. The youth criminal justice act needs serious reform.
Who are these kids? Who are their parents?
What punishments can we apply to violent youth crime?
If you’re old enough and strong enough to kick and stomp a full grown man on the ground such that he is paralyzed - you’re old enough to face justice.
We need to know their names, and their parents’ names. This shameful behaviour needs to be exposed. Every element of social and peer pressure should be used to shame families involved in this behaviour. All kids do stupid things, even kids of good parents. But if your 11 year old
is assaulting and paralyzing a grown man, that’s on you parents. Something went wrong years ago.
This is not justice, and we’re seeing an uptick in gangs deliberately using underage kids to commit shockingly violent crimes because they’re not tried as adults.
There’s plenty of kids that know this and laugh. For people who laugh off decency and restraint, the corresponding punishment should do the same. This 11 year old can change this Captain’s life, and that of his wife, kids and grandchildren forever, and yet his life will go on as usual. Absolutely shocking and disgusting. If you can deliberately and maliciously destroy someone’s life, there must be some degree of accountability from either you or your parents, even if you’re 11.
We have 11 year olds assaulting teachers in schools as well. Time to bring back corporal punishment.
Praying for a speedy recovery for Captain Kunkel.

🚨 BREAKING NEWS: 12 NEWBORN WOLF PUPS KILLED IN IDAHO — $2,000 PAID FOR EACH DEATH!
In a horrifying revelation, official wildlife records have exposed the killing of 12 newborn wolf pups, believed to be just ONE TO THREE WEEKS OLD, by three hunters in Idaho, USA.
The killings took place on 25 April 2026 in Idaho’s northern Panhandle region, but the shocking details have only now emerged in an investigation published on 6 November.
Even more disturbing? The hunters received $2,000 per pup through a state-backed reimbursement programme — a total of $24,000!
Wildlife experts suspect the helpless pups may have been removed directly from their dens, although this has not been conclusively established.
At such a young age, these babies would have been completely dependent on their mothers, with little or no ability to escape.
And tragically, under Idaho law, killing newborn wolf pups is LEGAL.
Idaho has introduced aggressive wolf population reduction policies, with a target of approximately 650 wolves, despite the species having been nearly exterminated from much of the United States before its reintroduction.
The state’s wolf population currently remains above 1,100.
Conservationists have condemned the payments, questioning how public money can be used to support the killing of newborn wildlife.
Wolves reproduce just once a year, and destroying entire litters can devastate wolf families, potentially causing packs to fracture or collapse.
These were not dangerous predators threatening livestock. They were tiny, defenceless babies, barely beginning their lives.
How can a society that claims to value wildlife conservation justify paying thousands of dollars for the deaths of newborn animals?
This is not conservation. This is a heartbreaking assault on one of North America’s most magnificent and misunderstood species.

We just learned Idaho paid hunters $2,000 for every newborn wolf pup they killed. Meanwhile, Trump is working to weaken the Endangered Species Act, putting imperiled wildlife at even greater risk.
This is an abomination. There’s no undoing extinction.

The White House sent a memo to more than 3,000 conservative organizations that laid out a list of "Trump's accomplishments in office" and pledged to prevent newly ascendant Democrats from reversing them.
"We are monitoring statements, press releases, and media engagements from your organizations," the memo ended with, a rare sentence highlighted in yellow that was not used in previous emails from the White House.

The biggest unreported story from yesterday: Carney snuck into the budget a massive immigration increase with the LARGEST NUMBER OF NEW PERMANENT RESIDENTS EVER next year.
Nearly 200,000 more than Trudeau’s highest-ever number year. When we have a shortage of jobs, homes, and health care.
Now we know why Carney snuck his immigration plan into a budget when everyone was distracted by the midterms and right before Parliament shuts for 10 days.
Unacceptable. This needs a real debate.
