1st strikeout in Low-A for #Angels prospect Barrett Kent
A lot to like here with Kent.
Good life on the FB, good feel for the strike zone, and controls the big body well. Still some development to do, but definitely a name to keep an eye on.

8th-rder Barrett Kent signs w/@Angels for $1 million (pick 234 value = $206,500). Texas HS RHP, shows a live fastball to 96 mph & two-plane low-80s slider, also flashes feel for a changeup. Arkansas recruit. @MLBDraft

Not Taylor related but my baby cousin (@Bkent32) had 3/10 of the top highest pitching velocities in the High School game at the MLB Draft Combine and it was mentioned in an article about standouts on the official MLB website!!! I’m so proud of him

Final pitch from Barrett Kent (@Bkent32). It’s a ground ball to 2B Cayden Humphrey (@humphrey_cayden) who makes a fantastic diving stop and throw to first for the first out in the 8th. #FiveToolDefense

I drove to Richardson High School to watch Boyd vs Pottsboro playoff game. I witnessed Barrett Kent throw 96-98 mph consistently in front of 8 mlb scouts. Also Boyd's- Brayden McIntire put on a pitching clinic- STUD! Both shutting each team out 7 full innings. Amazing!!
