Class 3 began drafting their performance poems in writing this morning, their poems are about the sound collector who has taken all the sounds away from school! Everybody worked hard to get their rhymes in and a range of different sounds.
What an exciting afternoon. One little boy said “I wonder what happened to the dinosaurs.” We used an information book to find out. Later in the afternoon we became archaelogists by carefully digging up dinosaur bones. We put them together just like in the museum. #EYFS
Hartley Class received a very special recipe this morning, Gruffalo Crumble. We worked as a team to follow the recipe, measure out the ingredients and bake our crumble. It was delicious. #EYFS
Class 4 worked collaboratively this morning to explore the original hound of the Baskervilles graphic novel. They discussed the possible plot, the setting, the characters and any clues 🕵️ we could find about the text. We are excited for this book 🙌
Class 4 transformed into a court of law this afternoon as part of our PSHE Citizenship unit of learning. The children took part in a mini trial based on our writing text Sherlock Holmes. We had a defendant, a defence, prosecution, witnesses, jury and a judge. 🧑⚖️
Class 3 have been rehearsing in groups for their performance poetry unit in writing. They rewrote stanzas of a poem called ‘The School Kid’s Rap’ and added actions ready to perform in preparation for writing their very own poems.
Class 1 discovered some pine cones, leaves and sticks in the Classroom, along with a note that asked us to head to the rec to look for clues. When we arrived we found orange eyes, a green poisonous wart, purple prickles and sharp pointy teeth. Can you guess this weeks story?

One little boy has been very interested in dinosaurs. He has spread his knowledge throughout our class, which has inspired us all to follow his interest. We used our information books to research the habitats of dinosaurs and their characteristics. We made our own dinosaur land.
In our PSHE learning Class 1 have been understanding why it is important to share and cooperate with others. After observing how some of our teddies interacted with their friends, Miss Grundy set us a challenge to demonstrate that we were incredible sharers. Here’s some examples.
Class 4 have got stuck in straight away to their new RE unit on Hinduism. This afternoon they have been recapping their prior knowledge on Hinduism and then expanding this knowledge through research and collaboration. #collaboration #ambition
