the schools has no more important task than to teach rigorous thinking, cautious judgement and consistent reasoning; therefore, it has to avoid religion.
miraculous education - interest in education will genuinely become intense...
I was once invited as a guest speaker at a local primary school during their prayer day ahead of KCPE. I could see just how powerful their prayers were. Pupils were banging classroom walls and shouting like Paul and Silas in prison.
When I was finally ushered in to speak, I began by asking them to tell me their mean score in the last exam. The class had 70 pupils, and their mean score in the previous exam was 178.6 marks.
I was dumbfounded, not just by the figure, but also by how confidently they shouted it out. Anyway, I began my talk by telling them that working hard in class was far more powerful than prayers alone.
I could hear murmurs from both the teachers and the pupils. I pressed on, explaining how to prepare for exams, how success is built over time, and how an exam is not a one-day event. A single prayer cannot magically change your results. If you haven't been reading, hakuna muujiza hapo mbele!
A loud silence followed.
Long story short, I finished my talk, and then came the results. The school posted a mean score of 163.043 marks. 鈽狅笍鈽狅笍
The school has never invited me for another event.
