Bro, NOBODY wants to sell their compute. DeepSeek doesn't even want to let investors in because they have no use for money- they want COMPUTE. But they can't get it for any money in the world. Literally none of the big players would want to switch positions with Elon: Having a meme AI model that is 8 months behind and so underused that you have to sell your compute (which originally was hailed as your unique competitive advantage) Hailing SpaceX for growing their AI revenue through compute rentals is the equivalence of hailing a girl who drops out of Harvard Law school to suck old people's dicks because she earns more than her classmates.
So let me get this straight. SpaceX gets a 6 month to 1 year payback on MASSIVE compute clusters. It can then turn around and sell the capacity to customers at MASSIVE premiums as the demand for tokens continues to go exponential. Once those massive clusters are paid off, it can then repoint that same capacity at its OWN models (Grok/Grok Bot) and make insane margins on clusters that are already paid off. And it's working on creating an entire vertical stack that includes making its own chips (Terafab). How is this not the most valuable company in the world? $SPCX

Vivek Ramaswami should be ashamed of himself for attempting to exploit the obviously troubled mother of a sex abuse survivor. Dr. Amy Acton was allegedly raped by her stepdad with whom the mother stayed married. The rapist reportedly fled and died a fugitive. Politics is a scummy game, but this is beneath contempt. Ramaswami must renounce this ad ASAP.

The AI maximalists say that we need AI to do all the jobs so that we can be freed to do more meaningful things like make art and read to our children. But then they also want AI to make art and read to our children. So what exactly will be left for humans to do? The answer, though they won’t admit it, is that we get to be passive consumers sitting around slack jawed staring at screens until we die. That’s the only form of happiness these people can conceive of. It’s all any of us should want, as far as they’re concerned.

Let's make something crystal clear. Anyone claiming the "Battle of Hormuz" has been won citing nothing but flow data is acting in bad faith. Let's make something else crystal clear. The US cannot actually win the "Battle of Hormuz." There is no endgame that results in status quo ante bellum, a free and open waterway navigable by all without obstruction or interference. That ship has sailed, pun very much intended. Can the US restore 100% pre-war flow of ships and product? Yes, eventually. Will oil prices return to pre-war levels? Yes, eventually. But as long as Iran exists in its current form, it will always exert its newfound influence over the Strait. Meaning there will always be added risk and that added risk will always be reflected in the costs to operate in and around the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz. That is just unavoidable at this point. That is before we even begin to consider the cost in man, materiel, and money that went into this absurd conflict and the impact it will have on our ability to maintain readiness for future conflicts. American military support is the only reason export flows through the Strait have been revived to the current reduced levels and the military cannot continue these operations indefinitely. All infrastructure to sustain a permanent presence in the region is destroyed. The Navy, in particular, has been stretched as thin as it could possibly be just to maintain a blockade and air presence. Never mind bring ships anywhere near the Strait of Hormuz itself. Can the military outlast the rapidly devolving economic situation in Iran? Maybe. But at incalculable cost and Iran has spent the last 47 years being exposed to extensive economic pressure and in spite of all of this they're 31 weeks into a 4 week war and still putting the screws to shipping traffic while the US Navy moves its blockade line back out of fear of anti-ship missiles.
The US has basically won the battle of the Hormuz

What that $5000’check does is cause everyone’s cost of living immediately going up $10,000 a year. Trump said it himself. He wants to make the dollar worthless with inflation.

🚨 GOLDMAN SACHS DROPS DOOMSDAY STATEMENT: U.S. BONDS HAVE NO BUYERS Goldman Sachs just admitted the long end of U.S. Treasury market is “totally bidless.” Translation: almost nobody wants the 10- to 30-year debt the U.S. is trying to sell. No buyers. None. Zero. While Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent tells Congress we’re in an “illiquid period,” doubles then triples long-bond buybacks, taps the General Treasury Account to fund it and openly says “I am the house.” Yields are surging anyway. The 10-year has pushed toward 5.3% and the 30-year is even higher, levels not seen in years while Japan, one of the biggest foreign holders, keeps selling Treasuries and bringing money home. This was exactly warned by Japan’s @yutokanzakireal that the measures being prepared by Bank of Japan will affect the lives of billions of people and apologized to people of the West. Soon after, Scott Bessent intervened and effectively took over BoJ operations which Japanese policymakers heavily criticized. If the same ”bidless” condition hits the short-dated treasuries market, the entire U.S. debt market (and global) collapses. The U.S. debt crisis will turn into a global liquidity crisis.

Alberta’s Pacific Link pipeline is officially a project of national interest. This means the permitting process is fast tracked and we can reach our goal to get final construction permits approved by September of next year! One million barrels a day from Alberta to the west coast, and from there to the Asia Pacific and beyond. This means greater energy sovereignty for Canada and a better price for every barrel that leaves this province. That is more than $20 billion a year added to Canada's economy and up to 140,000 jobs in Alberta, British Columbia and across the country. Here is what it means at your kitchen table. Stronger paycheques. Tens of billions in new revenue for the hospitals, schools and roads Albertans use every day.

I stopped trusting the official inflation number the day I started actually looking at receipts. Ground beef was $1.71 a pound in 2002. Today it's $6.92. That's 5.8% a year, every year, for 24 years. Coffee, 4.8% a year. Gas, 4.7% a year. The median home went from $186k to $411k. Official CPI over the same stretch? 2.6% a year. That's the number your raises are based on. That's the number your savings account is "beating." Your cash is being eaten away by inflation.

I live in a tiny Northern NY border town where there wasn’t much to do in the winter as a kid besides go to the D1 hockey games on Friday, and we know that Canadian anthem by heart because it was always played. Buffalo’s a border city too, and we love our neighbors. Cry.
DOES THIS OFFEND YOU MAGA and Fox are up in arms that tomorrow night, during their prime time game, the Buffalo Bills will play the Canadian national anthem as a tribute to their thousands of fans on the other side of the border. Your Thoughts

India, Indonesia have a lot of consumers. What does that have to do with anything. China has way more consumers than the US so are you saying China will be bigger and better than the US. Anyways, Canada has significantly more exports to the world per capita than the US. That means the world wants what Canada has. You see the US can’t create nickel, or iron ore, fresh water or lithium or gold or copper. Canada has significantly more than the US Enjoy being a poor American as Canada has $700k per person vs $130k in the US. Total Value vs. Per Capita •Canada: Ranks among the global leaders (placing second behind Saudi Arabia in per-capita rankings), with total estimated natural resource wealth valued around $33.2 trillion, translating to over $700,000 per person. Canada's wealth is heavily driven by oil sands, timber, and extensive mineral reserves. • •United States: Holds a massive total natural resource value (estimated around $45 trillion), but because of its large population of over 330 million people, its per-capita natural resource wealth falls much lower on a per-person basis.

Peter Schiff’s thesis is pretty simple: The US is issuing more debt than the market wants to buy. So yields go higher. Higher yields mean more interest expense. More interest expense means more borrowing. More borrowing means even more bonds to sell. Eventually, the Fed becomes the buyer of last resort. That means QE. Money printing. Inflation. Schiff says sell long-term bonds and buy gold. I agree with the diagnosis. I just think Bitcoin is the better escape hatch.
