Athletic trainers’ priority during on-field emergencies is athlete safety. We appreciate Mr. Robinson’s apology & urge programs to respect sports medicine staff & allow them to provide care w/o interference. Athlete safety starts w/ protecting caregivers.

I have way too much to say on this as a former ATC, but X will not allow it! Some of you need to know the rules, the situational awareness, and who is in charge here! The training staff is trained to clear space, players are trained to back off. There is a whole lot more to this
Although my job requires a lot of late nights and missed dinners/bedtimes... I do get to have a lot of mornings where I can enjoy the park with at least one of my 3 kids.

Nobody knows what YOU’RE through but you.
Communicating that to people around you can be difficult.
Not everyone will be able to empathize with you or understand you, but there is hope.
Just because it’s hard right now, doesn’t mean it will be hard forever.

Concussion recovery is not a “push harder” injury.
One of the most common mistakes we see:
• ignoring symptoms
• doing too much
• trying to “fight through it”
• pretending everything is normal
More effort ≠ better recovery.

Concussion recovery is a puzzle.
We need to focus on how each piece fits together to form the bigger picture.
If we only focus on 1 piece of the puzzle - we can lose sight of the bigger picture.
