This was definitely Mike and Laurence's favourite artwork in the exhibition @SMTrust . We couldn't tear our staff away from Bawden's map. Laurence then gave us a fab history lesson when we walked back to our classroom. #Functionalskills #art #history #learning
We have been inspired by Edward Bawden's map (1931) @SMTrust Scarborough Art Gallery to have a go at creating our own map. We are going to plot some important landmarks, chosen by our Blueberries. Can you guess what they are?
Blueberries were first in the queue to visit the newly opened @SMTrust Scarborough Art Gallery. We are working on two projects about Scarborough, so the exhibition was just the ticket! Next week, we will practise describing and talking about our favourite pieces.

Next week, our Scarborough Blueberries will be visiting @SMTrust Scarborough Art Gallery. We are very excited about visiting a real gallery but did you know, throughout the lockdown, the lovely folk at SMT have been sharing lovely resources online. Thank you!
Did you know, our Blueberry friends in York have a pop-up shop? It's full of beautiful gifts and unique pieces of furniture...and the staff are very friendly, of course!

This looks very interesting and we can't wait to visit!

Blueberries and strawberries! Our trainee, Alan, has been helping lovely Martha @crescent_arts in partnership with @WoodendCreative to prepare the raised beds. They have divided all the strawberry plants, giving them space to grow. #EarthDay
Artist and Blueberry trainee, Liam Burke has been astounding us all with his drawing again! He is currently working on a new series of architectural drawings. What do you think @TheGrandScarbor? @SMTrust @crescent_arts @WoodendCreative @KaneCunningham #architecture #scarborough
Poets are emerging at Blueberry Academy in Scarborough! Megan was inspired by @wondykitten's poem 'In Scarborough' . We went on a walk and Megan noted her thoughts of Scarborough in lockdown, reflecting on some of the things she is missing.
We are super proud of artist, Liam Burke. His line drawing of Scarborough Lighthouse takes pride of place outside @thesjt for the #ScenesfromScarborough #ScarboroughArtsTrail #welcometoscarborough @DiscoverCoast

Watch Universal Talking News No. 487 on BFI Player player.bfi.org.uk/free/film/… Inspired by @SMTrust pictures about Shrove Tuesday, our tutor has been researching this wonderful tradition for our English classes. We can't wait to share this film with our trainees.
