Kudos to @Being_Patient_ for this timely coverage of #progranulin (#GRN) FTD and the promising experimental therapeutics being tested in the clinic.
🧬 Mutations in the GRN gene are the most common #genetic cause of frontotemporal dementia (#FTD).
💊 Experimental pills and #gene therapies are vying to be the first to prevent and slow the #disease.

Another meaningful way to get involved this year: listening, learning, and staying informed. 🎧 #FTD-focused podcasts and education—like the
@RememberMePodcast,
@AFTD’s Educational Webinars, and
@4theirthoughts' valuable perspectives from families, clinicians, and researchers.
Getting involved doesn’t always start in a lab—it often starts with community. Orgs like @AFTDHope, #CureGRN, @CureMaptFtd , @CurePSP, @End_the_Legacy, #RememberMePodcast and #ForTheirThoughtsFoundation provide vital advocacy, education, and support for families affected by #FTD.
It’s a new year—and a new way to learn about clinical trials. Clinical trials help determine whether new therapies are safe and effective, and participation moves #FTD research forward.
