Binance getting drained shows crypto still isn’t fully decentralized. Tether can freeze stolen USDT, but the hacker can use it as collateral on Aave to borrow ETH that no one can freeze.
This forces DeFi protocols to either add freeze powers or be seen as untrustworthy exit ramps meaning a lot of onchain value becomes freezable in practice.
Question:
Do you think major DeFi protocols will have to build in stronger freeze/blacklist tools, or will most meaningful assets on the blockchain end up freezable anyway?
Will crypto even be decentralized as we use to think?
