Disappointing result. Obviously Arsenal are a good team and difficult to play against but it's finishing that cost us points today.
A pretty clear penalty on Isak not being awarded didn't help either.
We've made improvements but there's still work to be done.
But a work in progress & I can see massive improvements on last year’s malaise. So I’ll end on that note. But fuck we need a LB.
Jacquet was superb. Again. Kerkez had a stinker. Gakpo was quiet, doesn’t seem to work on that right. And Isak is definitely resembling Haaland that if he doesn’t lash one in, he doesn’t give much & put that (Barcola, Wirtz, Isak) together last 25 mins, we run out of ideas
As excellent as Barcola was 1st half, his 2nd half was really poor. For £100M you demand dynamite & quality for 90 mins. But he’s lacking for consistency & with Wirtz drifting as well in 2nd half’s, we become quite blunt.
Can’t moan about effort, commitment, work rate. Can bemoan our offensive quality which is really, really poor. We’re just not quite at the required level. It’s clear where our issues lie. I’ve sensed this issue for awhile. We should do far better in the final 3rd.
