Why is it only Lagos State Governors that don’t automatically try to contest for Senate seats after their tenures end? Is there an unwritten rule in Lagos?

President Tinubu appointed @uzonwagba to run @CrediCorpNG and it's been an interesting turnaround in the way Nigerians look at the idea of credit. 🎥: @MrAfobaje Watch his interview here - youtu.be/7YtX6yq_rfQ?si=uIgS…
This was 10 years ago, at the 2016 Bola Tinubu Colloquium in Lagos. In the video, President Bola Tinubu lectures his audience about rethinking Nigeria’s approach to consumer credit by developing banking products that allow ordinary Nigerians to access credit rather than relying solely on conventional lending models. He explains the benefits of a credit-based system and how it can help reduce corruption. It’s a simple concept. Nigerians don’t need ₦15 million upfront to buy a 2015 Honda Accord. All they need is a 10% down payment of ₦1.5 million, after which they can make monthly payments until the car is fully paid for. And that is why he established @CrediCorpNG: to help Nigerians move away from an instantaneous payment system toward a credit-based, instalment payment system. Nigerians don’t ask for much. We just need someone who can help the country chart a new course, so the common man can access some of life’s basic comforts with the limited resources he has. That is why Bola Tinubu took action, and today, over 227,000 Nigerians are being served by @CrediCorpNG. He said it in 2016, and he did it years later as President. That’s what policy consistency looks like! Unlike some people who wanted the fuel subsidy removed immediately, then later said it should be removed gradually, and today want to bring the subsidy back after investigating the corruption surrounding it. Tinubu till 2031✅✌🏾 🎥 IG: informednigerian_

On political twitter, silence is not golden. Do not turn the other cheek. A clear intention to slap is enough reason to slap back. If you wait for a hand to be raised against you, it might be too late. An undesirable action is only guaranteed to stop, if the reaction is not equal and opposite. It is an offence, not to be offensive against those that offend you. Do not risk a mosquito bite, it can cause malaria. Malaria can kill. Using a sledgehammer to kill a mosquito to prevent any such eventuality is strongly advised. They see a mosquito, you see malaria and an ambulance. Do not reason with bullies, make them pay, smash them like pots of clay.

My people, we can disagree on many things as Nigerians, but deep down, I believe we all want a better Nigeria for our children. If you still believe in Nigeria like I do, always pray for her. God bless Nigeria. 🇳🇬 Ire oo.

I will always disagree with those who say Peter Obi has no structure. He has structure, but from what I have seen, it is built around intimidation, insults, bullying, threats, mockery and lies. I’m not afraid to say it as I see it. Ire oo.

I’ve been getting a lot of messages from people who are surprised that I support the APC. Let me make this clear: I have been a supporter of Jagaban since before he even formed the coalition that eventually led to the APC. Today, I am a registered, card carrying member of the APC, and I will support him with my full chest. I have the right to support whoever I choose, just as everyone else has the right to support whoever they choose. My political choice is mine, and I have absolutely no reason to apologise for it. So, if you don’t like my tweets or you cannot stand the fact that I support the APC, please feel free to block me. That way, you can have your peace of mind, and I can continue expressing my views without any unnecessary drama. But if you want to have a constructive argument or engage in a healthy political debate, you are more than welcome. And if you come with insults, you’re still welcome. At the end of the day, I will continue to support who I believe in, proudly and unapologetically.

EPISODE 9 — THE CONSEQUENCES Life after the separation was difficult. Folashade moved back to her parents' house. Damilare remained confused. He knew something had changed, but he did not fully understand why. One evening, he asked Adebayo: “Daddy, did I do something wrong?” Adebayo's heart broke. “No, my son.” “Then why is Mummy not living here?” Adebayo hugged him. “Sometimes adults make mistakes.” “Are you angry with me?” “Never.” Damilare looked at him. “Will you still be my Daddy?” Adebayo fought back tears. “Yes.” Meanwhile, Segun began visiting. At first, Damilare was uncomfortable. He did not know who the man was. Gradually, he became familiar with him. Adebayo made sure the boy understood that he was not responsible for the adults' decisions. Adesewa also played an important role. She treated Damilare with kindness. One afternoon, Folashade visited her. “I don't know whether you will ever forgive me.” Adesewa looked at her. “You hurt me.” “I know.” “For years, I thought you had everything I wanted.” Folashade began crying. Adesewa continued: “But now I understand that having a child first doesn't mean someone has a perfect life.” Folashade nodded. “I am sorry.” “I cannot forget what happened.” “I understand.” “But I don't want to hate you forever.” Folashade cried. The family slowly began healing. Adebayo and Adesewa's marriage became stronger. They learned to discuss problems instead of allowing relatives to make decisions for them. Adebayo also changed his attitude toward family pressure. Whenever someone suggested another spiritual solution, he would politely say: “Pray if you want to pray, but don't let fear make your decisions for you.” He had learned the hard way. The second marriage had been entered because of pressure and desperation. It had brought a child. It had brought happiness for a while. But it had also brought betrayal. And the biggest lesson was yet to come. Final episode tomorrow thanks for reading.
EPISODE 8 — THE TRUTH COMES OUT Segun arrived at Adebayo's house two days later. He looked nervous. Adebayo placed the DNA result on the table. “You are Damilare's biological father.” Segun looked down. “I suspected it.” Adebayo stared at him. “You suspected it?”“Yes.” “And you said nothing?” Segun was silent. Adebayo stood up. “You both deceived me.” “I am sorry.” “Sorry again.” Segun lowered his head. “I made a mistake.” “So did Folashade.” Adebayo's voice became calmer. “But the child is innocent.” Segun nodded. “I want to know my son.” Adebayo looked at him. “You will have to do that carefully.” Meanwhile, Folashade confessed everything to her family. Her parents were devastated. Her mother cried. “Why did you do this?” “I was afraid.” “Afraid of what?” “I thought Adebayo would leave me.” Her father shook his head. “You cannot build a peaceful marriage on a lie.” The news eventually reached Adesewa. She was shocked. She had spent years feeling inferior to Folashade because Folashade became pregnant first. Now the entire situation had changed. One evening, she sat beside Adebayo. “What will you do?” “I don't know.” “Will you leave her?” “I am thinking about it.” Adesewa remained silent. Then she said: “Whatever you decide, don't punish the child.” “I won't.” “He still sees you as his father.” Adebayo nodded. “That is what hurts most.” Adesewa looked at him. “You can stop being Folashade's husband, but you don't have to stop being Damilare's father.” Adebayo looked at his wife with gratitude. “You are right.” The family meeting was held a few weeks later. Adebayo announced that his marriage to Folashade was over. Folashade accepted the decision. But Adebayo made another announcement. “Damilare will remain part of my life.” Everyone became silent. He continued: “I may not have given birth to him, but I raised him.” Segun would also be allowed to build a relationship with his biological son. It was painful. But the truth was finally out. Yoruba ti ronu oooo. See as comment section under this tweet is on fire 🔥
I'm tired of this madness. If fluency in Yoruba language is he only thing you have against GRV, that means he is overqualified for the position. Governance is not done in Yoruba language. Do you want good governance or you just want a Governor that speaks Yoruba and doesn't know what he is doing in office? How many times have Sanwo-Olu spoken to you, before we even address the matter of him speaking to you in Yoruba. He probably doesn't even consider you relevant to address. When I was in Kebbi state offering legal aids to keep people out of prison, I couldn't speak Hausa. I used an interpreter. That is how the world works in 2026. Nobody cares what language you speak if you can get the job done. If you're doing international business, you'll use an interpreter. If you're in a forum with multinationals, you'll use interpreter. If yoruba language fluency is your problem. He will use an interpreter to address you. You are too educated to be this foolish in 2026.

LMAO @mc_lively_ 🤣😏🤨 Walk with me… 1. @AkinwunmiAmbode signed the Yoruba Language Preservation and Promotion Law (2018), mandating Yoruba in all public and private primary and secondary schools in Lagos and incorporating it into General Nigerian Studies in all state-owned tertiary institutions. 2. @AkinwunmiAmbode redeveloped the J.K. Randle Centre for Yoruba Culture and History in Onikan, one of Lagos’ most visited museum with a Yoruba library of literature, history, science, and nursery rhymes for study, documentation, and experience of Yoruba history and culture. 3. @jidesanwoolu expanded, completed, and commissioned the centre. He started Yoruba Week, promoted Isese with an Isese Day, addressed Lagosians in Yoruba, and translated laws into Yoruba. 4. Yoruba is an official means of communication in all Lagos State-owned establishments. 5. The Yoruba Language Preservation and Promotion Law (2018) also provides for Yoruba versions of all state laws. 6. The Lagos House of Assembly @lshaofficial has long used Yoruba for Thursday proceedings, including debates, motions, and traditional attire. Barrister Mike from Agenebode, Edo State, stay out of Yoruba people’s business, just as we have stayed out of your business and stop embarrassing the good people of Estako. Thanks.
Nigerians love their chains. Your issue now is that Gov can’t speak Yoruba clearly. “He had 4 years to learn it” All the governors who speak Yoruba clearly for the past 27 years, what have they done to preserve culture? Nigerians are funny people.

EPISODE 7 — THE DNA RESULT Adebayo entered the hospital slowly. His hands were sweating. The doctor handed him the DNA report. “Please read it carefully.” Adebayo opened the envelope. He read the result once. Then again. His heart stopped for a moment. The result showed that he was not the biological father of Damilare. He sat down. The room seemed to disappear around him. He remembered the day Damilare was born. He remembered carrying him for the first time. He remembered teaching him how to walk. He remembered buying his first school uniform. He remembered Damilare's first birthday. All those memories suddenly felt different. But one thing remained unchanged. He loved the boy. Adebayo returned home quietly. Folashade noticed immediately. “What happened?” He placed the DNA report on the table. Folashade picked it up. The colour disappeared from her face. “Bayo…” “Don't call my name.” She began crying. “I'm sorry.” Adebayo stared at her. “Who is the father?” She said nothing. “Is it Segun?” Her silence answered the question. Adebayo sat down. “How long have you known?” “I wasn't sure.” “You allowed me to believe that child was mine.” “I was afraid.” “Afraid of what?” “Losing everything.” Adebayo laughed bitterly. “You have already lost it.” Folashade fell to her knees. “Please forgive me.” “I don't know if I can.” She cried. “I made a terrible mistake.” “No. You made a decision and kept a secret.” He looked at the DNA report. “Does Segun know?” Folashade shook her head. “I don't know.” Adebayo walked outside. His mind was full of questions. What would happen to Damilare? What would happen to his marriage? What would people say? Most importantly, what would the truth do to an innocent child? He decided that he would not punish Damilare. The boy had done nothing wrong. But Folashade would have to face the consequences of her actions. And there was one more person who needed to hear the truth. Segun. WHAT IS NEXT? TOMORROW IS ANOTHER DAY.
