ALT Mind [charity] Face masks Some of us may find it difficult to wear face masks, or be around people in masks. This may include feeling uncomfortable around people wearing masks in public. This might make them seem sinister or dehumanised. Or it may remind you of covid and other illnesses. Or you may feel pressure to wear a mask in certain situations, even though they aren't required by law. For example, if you're not well but need to be out in public. Or if you're going to your GP or to hospital. But there may be reasons that you find it difficult to wear a mask – such as struggling - to breathe or feeling trapped.

ALT Religious Clothing Some of us may find it difficult to wear religious clothing, or be around people in religious clothing. This may include feeling uncomfortable around people wearing religious attire in public. This might make them seem sinister or dehumanised. Or it may remind you of religious traditions or conflicts. You may also feel pressure to wear religious clothing in certain situations, even though it's not required by law. For example, if you're attending a religious service or community event, where there might be an expectation to conform. But there may be reasons that you find it difficult to wear religious clothing – such as feeling restricted, uncomfortable, or struggling with the symbolic weight it carries.
