LMAO at an author admitting to reporting reviews for ‘negativity’ and making a whole post shaming reviewers because the reviewers *check notes* dislike her use of AI. She’s *admitted* to using AI. But sure, reviewers telling the truth is ‘negative’. Yes, I have receipts.

They come here for indie books but don't want to support indie authors and creatives...

Friends in Nova Scotia, Canada, & everyone abroad, please take a moment to sign this. My father is buried in Nova Scotia. It is so, so dear to me. I love that land more than I can ever convey. Don’t let them sully it with a gen AI data centre. Please. c.org/ck2JbPYshN

‘I’m here for indie books, I didn’t come for a lecture [on gen AI]’ Shocking as it might be to you, I can post whatever I want on ✨ my page ✨ and I don’t have to tailor it to you. You are also a human being with free will and access to a block button. Use it. 😘

we are literally all in this together. anyone pursuing any form of artistry (and everyone committed and in love with their work is a version of artist, even engineers and programmers) has a role in preserving the ecosystem and lifting up human innovation, skill, and creativity.
Seeing folks defend gen AI audiobooks is so gross. So fuck the narrators, huh? Virtual voice is bullshit and yes, you’re part of the problem. I don’t care that you feel entitled to an audiobook. YOU ARE NOT ENTITLED TO EVERYTHING. I hate this mindset. Get over yourselves.

#FantasyIndiesSpooktober 23: Bookish Hot Take My hottest bookish take is that all books are as good or bad as you allow them to be. If reading for pleasure, enjoy a book for what it is rather than fume over what it is not. If reading for new information, glean a nugget or two.
