Pete Thamel just said “expect Florida State to hire a sitting head coach right now. They need someone who understand this environment right now in college athletics.”
It’s not going to be Jimbo.
The truth is no one knows who it’s going to be yet. FSU still needs to figure out the new structure and who’s going to be the AD (they should’ve already figured a lot of this out imo). Feels like potentially a situation similar to Penn State’s embarrassing coaching search all over again (idiotically firing their coach with no concrete plan).
I’ve said two guys I think the next coach could be are sitting head coaches Jake Dickert or Manny Diaz. I’m going to add a third possibility that no one is talking about…SMU’s Rhett Lashlee. But this all depends on how quickly FSU gets their shit together…
FSU may actually be as bad of a job as people are saying it is lol if that’s the case, they’d be lucky to get any of those guys. They could very well end up getting rejected by all these guys like how Penn State got rejected by every coach they wanted.
