If you are (or know of) a new basketball official or are considering starting, we encourage you to attend the New Officials Clinic on October 31. It will be held at Gardner Edgerton High School (8:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.).
You'll have the opportunity to meet local assignors, fellow officials, and future friends. You'll receive feedback in a friendly, encouraging environment. The only cost is a few hours of your time. @KSHSAA @ksoasports @JohnDehan @NFHS_Org

Coaches play a powerful role in the high school experience - helping students learn, grow, compete and become the best versions of themselves.
Today, we’re grateful for the coaches who show up every day and make a difference far beyond the scoreboard.
Happy #NationalCoachesDay! 👏🏆
Who's a coach you want to celebrate today?!

107th @NFHS_Org Summer Meeting | Salt Lake City
On Monday, I had the privilege of moderating the Basketball Discussion Forum at the Federation’s 107th Annual Meeting.
The room was filled with leaders from across the country, all focused on the future of high school athletics.
High school athletics should create a better experience for student-athletes, coaches, officials, schools, and communities. The conversation reflected the best of educational athletics: thoughtful, collaborative, and student-centered.
Grateful to the NFHS, the state association leaders who shared their insight, and everyone who continues to invest in high school basketball.

This is great news. @DavisWhitfield5 will be an outstanding CEO for the @NFHS_Org. @KSHSAA @ksoasports @JohnDehan
Please join us in congratulating Davis Whitfield on being named the next Chief Executive Officer of the NFHS!
After serving as Chief Operating Officer for the past 11 years, Davis will become the seventh full-time CEO in NFHS history. Throughout his career, he has demonstrated a deep commitment to education-based athletics and activities, student leadership, innovation, and service to our member state associations.
We look forward to the future under Davis' leadership as the NFHS continues its mission of supporting students, schools, and communities across the nation.
Congratulations, Davis!

It was an honor (and a lot of fun!) to engage with high school basketball coaches nationwide at the @NABC1927 Annual Convention, where we explored ways to shape the future of the game, discussing @NFHS_Org rule changes, proposed updates for SY 26-27, and strategies to boost student participation. A huge thank you to NFHS for allowing me to participate and be an advocate of the game. @KSHSAA @JohnDehan @ksoasports

Im asked why do I officiate and assign. I spent the day with 30 other assignors and @KSHSAA staff sharing ideas. And then shared some time with my mentor. It's a fraternity like no other. Be apart of the game join the 3rd team and become an official. @ksoasports
Not everyone plays by the rules.
But I do.
As an official, it’s my job to show student-athletes how to do the right thing, even when the game is on the line.

A HUGE shout-out to the @kshsaa for another outstanding week of state tournament basketball. If you're not aware, the team at KSHSAA has been working for 2+ years to consolidate two classes into one location. This modification allows more titles to be determined at a single location! And, boy, did it deliver. Kudos to KSHSAA for their forward-thinking and work to pull off these major events, to all of the student-athletes and coaches who earned the right to participate, and to the officials who were selected to work on the state's largest and brightest stages. @ksoasports @NFHS_Org @JohnDehan
