Tories was in power. But most if not all of the cities and towns that these grooming gangs operated was labour councils. Labour councils and the police let the victims down and covered it up. Tories could have done something yes, but it wasn't them covering it up.

What he said!👇👇👇
A really good friend warned me tonight about criticising the “two tier policing” concept, as - and I get this - it has an overlap with what one supposes has become “my audience”. I’ll paraphrase my reply to him. Here’s the thing: you have to understand how I work. I’m a loyal person (and I’d hope you would expect that from a former soldier) and I’m prepared to die on a hill if I believe something to be right. I don’t take shekels for my Israel analysis, no matter how many times I’m accused of it. I’m not “pro-Israel”: I genuinely believe in the analysis I share. And I’m not very good at stepping back if I think something is worth fighting for. I’ve put in loads of work on the two tier policing issue. As a disinformation psychology expert, I am seeing the exact same patterns with “2 tier policing” allegations that I see with libellous allegations against Israel. I visited the Met as an army officer, specialising in public order, to learn about working with the police for a job I had. I sat in planning meetings for public order. I’ve shadowed bronze and silver police commanders for whole days and I’ve seen how they make decisions. I’ve dug into the statistics. There’s just no evidence for 2 tier policing other than anecdotal stuff from both sides, who *all* feel they’re policed unfairly. I’m certain the “2 tier policing” thing is a combination of: 1) lack of knowledge of the law, the Criminal Justice System, how the police operate and what powers the police actually have. I also think the piss-weak Crown Prosecution Service are getting a free pass for hanging the police out to dry. 2) overreliance on edited and biased social media footage to form opinions. 3) terrible police comms/messaging (and let’s be clear - they are dreadful at this). If this stance hurts my public profile, then it hurts my public profile. I’m fine with that. I’m not going to desert my police friends or stop standing up for what I think is right… in the same way I wouldn’t desert my Jewish and Israeli friends, or stop standing up for them because I get a wall of abuse on here every day. I’m very black and white. And in this case, blue. In the UK our police are fantastic. They do a superb and difficult job in the face of relentless criticism, and they have my respect. On this issue, I’m square in their corner.

Not normally one to jump on these types of band wagons but this one’s close to my heart Our police force are undermanned well under paid and over criticised by Karen with her NVQ level 1 in nail care who “pays their wages” If this week hasn’t proven they need to be better supported and better funded I don’t know what does. It will get to a stage where even the coppers have had enough. I hope they’re all safe and get to go home to their families 💂🏻‍♀️

Brave people stand ready to defend us... thanks to you @Brick_Cop and all our emergency services!
Ok, so why should all Cops be allowed to carry a #Taser if they want to? ⚡️ Now it might surprise you to learn, much like most Cops aren’t blue light or public order trained, most don’t or can’t carry a Taser…🍌 Apparently carrying a #Taser can look too aggressive…🫠 But with all the knife crime and stabbings, surely everyone should be allowed to!? 👀 I couldn’t agree more. Now let me tell you a story that comes with a health warning, so if you don’t want to read a graphic story about my friend being stabbed, I’d stop reading now. ⚠️ A few years ago at about 0300 in the morning my friend went to a ‘routine call’ - there’s no such thing as you’ll find out. He was with a very experienced Cop and a brand new probationer. Three up - A luxury! 😂 They were called to reports of a disturbance in a block of flats, someone kicking a door and understandably scaring the occupants at that time of night. Once on scene, they established quite quickly that the person kicking the door was a little drunk and not in the right place. The caller just wanted him gone and he agreed to exit the block with my colleagues. 🤷🏼‍♂️ They walked outside and to prevent him kicking anyone else’s door, asked him who he was and where he lived. Now my friend who we will refer to as (A) is an exceptional human and a wonderful Cop. I have seen him convince people on the edge to step back. He is a calm and soothing person. So (A) engages with the man and starts getting the spelling of his name. Whilst he’s doing this I got a phone call from (B) again a good friend and very experienced Cop. I was in a prisoner van that night and (B) wanted me to start making my way towards them to give this man a lift home. I was at a police station a little over a mile away so I said “Of course I’ll be on the way shortly”. Now while Officer (B) is on the phone to me Officer (C) notices something odd about the man. He’s shaking his left arm. He’s shaking it in a very strange motion and he then has something in his hand…🔪 Officer (C) shouted “that’s a knife” and grabbed hold of the ‘knife arm’. Officer (A) took out his handcuffs and tried to help get hold of that arm and Officer (B) grabbed the right arm. In the melée Officer (A) is stabbed seriously in the hand, nicking an artery but doesn’t know it yet. The suspect breaks free and Officer (A) grabs their radio and shouts “More Units”. Officer (A) has a distinctive voice and whilst already on the way, I immediately hit 999 in my van and put my foot down, hard. 🚨 Officer (B) and (C) are now giving chase and Officer (B) the one of the three who had a Taser, shouts loudly and clearly “OFFICER WITH A TASER STOP, NOW” fearing what the suspect will do next, Officer (B) fires, but misses because they’re on the move, in the dark. The chase continues but Officer (A) has realised he’s hurt badly. Officers (B) and (C) corner the suspect, challenge him again with the Taser and bravely get him detained in handcuffs, the suspect having finally given up. 👏 The rest of the team and I arrive moments later, I take one look at Officer (A) he’s going pale from shock and there’s blood everywhere, so myself and a colleague blue light him straight to the nearest hospital. 🚔 The A&E staff are superb and we calm down a lot. Officer (A) is out of danger, and being well looked after. The on call Supernintendo is even there in about twenty minutes. 🏥 If they’d all had Tasers would it have happened? We’ll never know. 🤔 But should we all have the option to carry one? 💯% we should. ⚡️ Let’s make it happen, now. 🫡 #ThinBlueLine 🚨
