The Brexit referendum was rigged in favour of Leave. Three of the most affected groups were denied a vote. 16-17 year olds were excluded to placate the Tory right. EU27 citizens in the UK were denied a vote while Commonwealth citizens, who were far less affected, were allowed to vote. Britons abroad for 15+ years were denied the vote that the Tories had promised them. If, as in the 2014 Scottish independence referendum, the vote had been granted to 16-17 year olds and EU27 nationals, Remain would have won. Leave won the referendum not because of a fair democratic vote, but because the electorate had been gerrymandered to exclude the most affected groups. Brexit was won by the worst abuses of democracy in modern history. The gerrymandering of the electorate was just one of those abuses. – at Brighton, England

Brexit politics was perverted by a massive torrent of hate and lies unleashed against immigrants by the tax-dodging Brexit billionaire press. This wasn't journalism or democratic comment. It was full blooded fascist hate propaganda. Brexit wasn’t an exercise in democracy. It was an exercise in the abuse of democracy. #BBB Brexit Betrays Britain – at Brighton, England

Had the Brexit referendum been mandatory it would have been annulled because of electoral fraud. Our political elite treated it as mandatory while exploiting the loophole of it being advisory. Mafia lawyers exploit legal loopholes, democratic governments must not. Brexit was the result of the worst abuses of democracy in modern British history, of which this legal loophole scam was just one. #BBB Brexit Betrays Britain

Bruce Springsteen: β€œI’m speaking to election officials and representatives of our government on Election Day: You have sworn an oath to preserve, protect, and defend our Constitution. That means you have a solemn duty to ensure our votes are securely counted. Thomas Jefferson said government requires the consent of the governed. You who represent us must never consent to any directives that undermine our constitutional right to a free and fair election. Our vote is our voice and it’s up to you to ensure that our voice is heard”

Last night Trump said he could have won Vietnam in a week. His plan was β€œgoing after Ho Chi Minh City.” Ho Chi Minh City was Saigon, the capital of South Vietnam. Our ally. The enemy’s capital was Hanoi. We bombed it. He called the presidents who fought that war stupid, then explained how he’d have won it by attacking our own side. 58,220 Americans died in that war. Trump got five deferments. Now he’s telling the rest of us how easy it would have been. He’s had more than fifty years to learn which side we were on. He still hasn’t. That alone should disqualify him from sending anybody else’s kids to war. Instead, he’s weighing more strikes on Iran after Tuesday. His administration has reportedly considered using the β€œmother of all bombs,” the one he calls β€œlike a tiny nuclear bomb.” The man who thinks we should have bombed our ally’s capital gets to choose the targets.

Another step on the road to the end of Brexit.
πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§πŸ‡ͺπŸ‡Ί Britain aligning food standards with the EU again. The ridiculous β€œNot for EU” labels may soon disappear and πŸ‘‰ Britain can then begin to rebuild its food security πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§ πŸ‡ͺπŸ‡Ί After years of arguing that Brexit meant escaping EU rules, Britain is now negotiating to align with them again to make trade easier, strengthen biosecurity and reconnect our food system with Europe. On 20 November, Britain and the EU are hoping to agree something genuinely significant. This could mean fewer physical border checks, the removal of costly veterinary export certificates and the beginning of dismantling the Brexit barriers we erected between ourselves and our largest, closest food market. The Government estimates the SPS deal could ultimately be worth up to Β£5.1 billion a year to the food and drink sector. Britain imports a substantial proportion of the food we eat. We cannot pretend our food system exists independently of Europe. And at a time of war, energy disruption, climate shocks and increasingly fragile global supply chains, putting barriers between Britain and the enormous food-producing region immediately beside us never made strategic sense. And EU alignment would mean Britain moving back towards European rules governing food safety, animal and plant health and imports from third countries. This matters when Britain has signed post-Brexit trade deals opening greater access to agricultural imports produced under different systems. Trade deals should not give anyone a legal right to sell unsafe food in Britain. But standards are only as good as the system that enforces them and since Brexit, we have had little control over imports.

πŸ‡ͺπŸ‡ΊπŸ‡¬πŸ‡§ Brexit is done. Support for rejoining stands at over 60%, its highest level in history. The EU will offer an interim deal in November while full membership is negotiated. Labour leads at 32%, will win and will consider rejoining. Brexit is the biggest lie in modern European history, and we are finally going to put an end to it. The UK is coming back.
