That #FridayFeeling! This 'otterly' adorable chap was spotted by Bob Watterson at one of our #BFTWildHeart sites! 🦦💚
Otters are a sign of a healthy ecosystem, relying on clean water & plenty of fish. 🐟
Many thanks to Bob! 📸

We were joined recently by a wonderful group from Land Use Consultants at our Corehead site. The group did fantastic work removing plastic tree shelters from established trees in the Tweedhope valley 🌳

The BFT team visited Crailing Community Orchard today to see the beautiful fruit trees & soak up some sun! 🍎🍐🦋

We’re recruiting.
How are you with money? We have vacancies for senior roles to help us with both raising money and managing it.
Find details about these exciting opportunities at the link in our bio, or just click on About Us on our website.
We are delighted to announce that we have secured funding from @MossyEarth to plant mountain birch, and high elevation growing downy birch at Talla & Gameshope.
These 3135 trees will be used to establish a high elevation birch woodland above our lower mixed broadleaved woodland
The planting will include an innoculation trial, designed by Rhizocore to establish if mycorhizzae inoculation aid survival and establishment in these trees when growing at altitude. Rhizocore will culture the mycorhizzae pellets for the innoculations when planting.
We will be planting in spring 2025 with the Treesurv planting team. A huge thanks to @MossyEarth and @onetreeplanted for supporting the planting of this new woodland type at Talla & Gameshope.

Some very positive news for those who want to see a more biodiverse Scotland.
This photo shows our incredible site in the Wild Heart, Ericstane North... We are delighted to announce that we just had our application for 60ha of new native woodland here approved by @scotforestry!
A big thanks goes to Andy Hines from Walker Hines Woodland Services for co-ordinating this work and preparing the proposal. Thanks also to Reuben Singleton, Andrew MacQueen, Jim Knight and Calluna Archaeology, the consultants involved in undertaking the survey work.
Introducing #PlotThatPlastic...
Would you like to get involved in a citizen science project to help get plastic off our hills in scotland?
Everyone can do their bit to help 'Forest Plastics Working Group' build a UK wide map locating the whereabouts of plastic tree guards...
When you are out and about, and see a plastic tree guard, plot the location of this using the links below.
